Norinco revealed the new VT-5 Light Tank which will be publicly displayed at an airshow soon. Designed for export, it has a 105mm gun and ERA on the side skirts, which is a first for a Chinese tank. the The shape of the turret is also a departure from previous Chinese tanks like the Type/ZTZ-96 and 99.

Look at this operator motherfucker with his cool M16
so what its like a chinese monkey model m1 Abrams
For a moment I thought it was a Challenger knockoff.
They would most likely be deployed in Middle Eastern hotspots as they would probably be cheaper then buying new Leopards, Challengers, and Abrams.
so what its like a chinese monkey model m1 Abrams
No? It's a continuation of the Chinese tank family that stems from the T-55.
Joke about shitty Chinese knockoffs if you want, but the tanks that have seen combat like the Type 59 and 69 aren't any worse than their Russian counterparts. The other Chinese tanks are supposedly pretty good on paper, but they're not exported and China's never used them, so it's difficult to tell.
That thing is more likely to see combat than most of the other tanks the Chinese produce, if it's for export.

That's not how war works. Nobody's replacing Leopards, Challengers or M1s with these. Providing it's cheap enough, there are plenty of poor-ish countries in Asia and the Middle East that are potential customers, since they either can't afford western tanks or the west won't sell them to them.
I think those would be sold to the El Presidentes of the world.

I'm starting to really like that stealthy fuselage+canard look, and after some testing in Kerbal Space program it does seem that a canard-equipped fighter in that form factor may be pretty darn agile.

Anything is agile in KSP. Solid rocket booster with four canards around the center of its' body? Can totally do tight-ass loops.

I was starting to like this plane, but its really oddly long from angles like this.

its basically the same thing as an f22 but the wing and tail planes are reversed, in terms of actual wing surface they're both the same

To an extent- wing parts in that can be iffy sometimes on what their CoL is.

A literal hand-cannon from Syria c. 1450-1499, made for the Mamluk Emir Kertbey al-Ahmar.
Was the engraving translated by any chance?

It says "This was produced on the order of his highness Kertbey al-Ahmar"

Anyone know if this is the sort of thing soldiers would have put together themselves on the field or if it was pre-built and sent out to them. I'm wondering if it would even exist or was it just for testing/photoshoot.
It was built i think.

Pre-built, a quad-mount for Maxims was a fairly common AAA weapon for the Soviets.
Can anyone tell me what kind of gun is this guy holding?

I'm certainly not an expert at this stuff, but it looks like a Croatian VHS2 to me.

Yup, definitely a VHS-2. Such a sexy bullpup that gets a lot less attention than it ought to IMO.
It's a VHS-2 alright, and also if anyone is wondering the soldier wielding it is part of the Iraqi Security Forces. -snip- My bad i made a mistake thought they were Peshmerga.

the feed mechanism would probably require it to have been built like that
i'm in love with how official the peshmerga is starting to look
on the other hand, ISIS is also starting to look pretty first world
i wonder who'll get NVG's first
A couple of questions:
What's the point of the UMP 9? What's the market for it? Why would HK use the platform they designed for .45 to make a 9mm smg when they already have an objectively better G3 junior that fills that role and isn't the size of a small shithouse. And who would opt for the UMP 9 over the G3-J anyway?
And second of all, do all bullpups use basically the same mechanism for the trigger? Like, isn't it always a metal rod or something connected to the trigger?

supposedly its cheaper than the MP line to manufacture but since the MP and all the g3 babies show no sign of ever going out of style they just have a slightly cheaper gun and the gun everybody else wants
pretty much any conversion will use a connecting rod since the trigger group is always at the back.
