Bolt action AK? :v:
What manner of sorcery is this?
A day out with the Australian army, ca.1978 In which we learn that the M113's amphibious capabilities are questionable at best :v: Bonus, actual definitely for real T-54

Did anyone get hurt while taking that M113 for a swim?
was that an m113a1 or a3? since IIRC the a3's can swim under very specific circumstances but aren't rated for it
I hope the crew got out of that alright, quite a few training accidents where blokes have been drowned in their vehicles.

I've heard that most of our submarines are actually just kamaz trucks painted black and slightly reshaped to take more people on board.
that's only the diesel subs iirc
How the heck do your trucks do that? [editline]26th October 2016[/editline] And still be affordable?
Not sure, but i think it has something to do with their high air intakes and exhaust pipes, so water just can't get into the engine, and exhaust gases can still be removed from the combustion chamber(or how this thing is called). That way engines should work more or less properly and don't stall even if put underwater.
So that's why the swedish navy haven't found any russian submarines along our coast...
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CvsFSp2WcAAalaW.jpg[/t] Willy Pete is making a come back against ISIS.
WP hasn't ever been out and away, so it isn't much of a comeback. It's the most common way of generating thermal-masking smoke, so if you want to hide anything on a modern battlefield, WP is the way to go. And since everyone has it around for that reason, cases of "oops tee-hee accidentally smoked a position with people in it, guess they're on fire now" aren't rare and not technically illegal.
How the heck do your trucks do that? [editline]26th October 2016[/editline] And still be affordable?
The pipe with the "dish" at the top of it is a snorkel feeding air down to the engine, as long as water won't get in through that and the engine is otherwise sealed, it will run. That, and KAMaz's are incredibly reliable trucks that will work under almost any condition. You should see some of the videos on Youtube of Russian woodloggers and the conditions of the roads they use. Most of the time the roads are closer to being a sinkhole than an actual road.
was that an m113a1 or a3? since IIRC the a3's can swim under very specific circumstances but aren't rated for it
Well, it's definitely not an A3. A3s have a pair of armored fuel tanks mounted either side of the rear hatch.
