The pipe rifle was supposed to be designed by a Wastelander who had no idea how guns worked.
I think they succeeded.
the KPOS carbine kit is also in TFA as the stormtrooper pistol

IM CONFUSED, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?
Isn't jamming, 3/10 bad interpretation.

The basic ones look like designs where someone tried to make a gun 20 times before figuring out a design that didn't blow up, but the upgraded ones are Borderlands bandit guns.

That looks more like a C96 than a luger
Woops!

Borchardt C-93.

would be my best guess. C96 ain't toggle-lock.
Didn't know that hashtag worked to summon you :0
Thanks though, imma read up on it
FP should have a script that emails/texts/carrier pigeon's Riller when gun knowledge is needed. And Joe Skylynx when homemade gun knowledge is required.

No.. wait a second..
That rear spring, where does that go?

Probably a more modern visual representation of the C-93's leaf/coil/flat/whateveritscalled spring in that semi-circular bulge behind the grip.
Whatever it is, I think we can all agree that it's nuts.

i think the spring is just an extra bit, but that is such a weird combination of guns there
Nah the ejection port is above the magazine, that looks like some sort of spring mechanism for the firing pin (maybe?) not an ejection port.
Wat
Carry handle rails and scope mounts can't be all that common out there. Gotta make do with what you've got.
As much as I love fixed carry handles, they are not ideal for mounting optics on. Optics that mount directly to the carry handle? Great.
Optics that need to mount to a rail fitted to the carry handle? This is where the phrase 'chinweld' comes into play.

Israel got the best solution to that.

Screw a rail to the carrying-handle that goes down below and in front of it, then slap your optics there. Flawless.
Actually not that stupid since cowitness and shit, whatever that's supposed to help.
Canada's JTF2 did/still does something similar as well

Half of those guns actually have removable carry handles though, so I'm not sure why they keep doing that.
preference maybe
or maybe they want a carry handle to carry the rifle with

If they had no idea how guns worked, the guns wouldn't work. But since the guns demonstrably do, that's a design principle that wears really thin.

Forward mounted optics have been a thing for a while

Well, mounting red-dots quite far forwards is good for some reason I don't understand but actually works very well somehow. Having cowitness also somehow helps for some reason despite only really giving a more cluttered sight picture which somehow makes you more accurate through magic or something. So it actually makes a fair bit of sense, somehow.
Well I've only noticed this with low quality dot-sights on my Airshit gats but they tend to line up more naturally the further you place em away.. kinda like focussing on your front sight with a pistol.
The downside to this is it's harder to shoot with both eyes open, the sight housing gets more in the way of your sight picture.
(Maybe I'm not Haley enough for that though)
