this mg looks like an answer to a logistics/expense problem as compared to a tactical problem.
why bother manufacturing machinegun belts or have your men carry more ammo when you have clips in your section. You essentially have what amounts to today as an over-sized battle rifle.
Are slam fire guns legal then?
[editline]12th October 2015[/editline]
As in guns intended to slam fire.
Slam fire pump guns are currently insurance liabilities for the manufacturers. When Ithaca got bought out, the new owners had to redesign the action slightly to not slam fire, a feature that set it apart for so many years. As for rifles, that is a real legal liability, so keep those free floating firing pins clean.
I have a Model 12 Winchester in 20GA that I can slam fire. Turns into an AA gun by the third shell.

Also to add to this, if you're willing to spend more money, go with a Benelli Nova, or Super Nova if you're into customization.

The Mossbergs and Remingtons destroy the Nova in the US in term of customization. There are also a lot more of them too so cheaper used ones along with new ones. Those 2 shotguns have been around for so long, they are the barbie dolls of shotguns. The nova is stuck in it's unique design hell along with many other good but not as popular shotguns. The Benelli M4 is lucky enough to even have an ATI stock option.

different rounds for KS-23
the bottom round second from the right is called 'Privet' - Hello
What the fuck that round in the bottom right
What the fuck that round in the bottom right
That looks like a 7.62x39 blank cartridge inside the shotgun shell case.
Grenade launching blank for gas grenades launched from an old-style muzzle-cup.
[editline]13th October 2015[/editline]
Grenade launching charges are almost always a small load in a bigger thing, for some reason that I do not care to look up but surely has to do with pressure and how gasses expand within the cartridge.
What the fuck that round in the bottom right
Blank, probably meant for launching muzzleloaded stuff like that grappling hook thing, or just for practice.

its a gun with an interesting holster
I sometimes wonder with the current set of laws we have if anyone has any plans to actually market commercial RPGs on the market.
Well, there is an American made RPG, with all the rails and M4-stocks and silly ribbed grips you'd expect to come with that. Not commercial, though.
There's also the Iranian adorable RPG, just because it is a RPG and it is there.

The L42A1 is my favourite variant of the Lee-Enfield rifle. I don't know why, I just really like the way it looks with the long barrel. It's also cool that it was in use for so long, well, 70's to 90's for the L42A1 specifically, but the fact it was a design of rifle dating back to the late 1800's, so you could say it had a service of 100 years or so. It was used by various branches the British Armed Forces including special forces such as the SAS, but I'm sure it was adopted by other countries too.

FN Showing off their prototype 7.62x39 SCAR which is different from the Handl Defense one. It also has the front sight moved off of the gas block and onto the rail like the Mk-16 variant they submitted to the Army's Individual Carbine competition.
Speaking of 7.62x39, Sig showed off a 7.62x39 MCX variant with stock made for European security forces who have ballistic visors. It probably won't be used in that configuration, they're just showing off the new parts.

Well, I should correct myself. Nova for a "better" stock gun, and Super Nova if you want to customize it easier.

whats the context behind this? are those like rangers or something, because i honestly didn't know we had rpg-7-like weapons in the army
[editline]14th October 2015[/editline]
it is an interesting idea to make an americanised version of the rpg though, we could surely improve on the safety of the system (i mean a single plastic cap is about as safe as they come now), and we could probably improve on the grenade a bit, as well as lighten the launcher.
i always thought the m-72 LAW was a good idea but sort of fell short of being a match for the rpg in terms of utility, though im not an expert at all in how the army would even deploy rpgs
I have never ever seen or heard of an RPG-7 being used. Javelins, M72 Laws and Carl Gustavs, yes. No RPG-7s.

This is pretty much our equivalent for a shoulder-mounted launcher
Yeah we have things like the Javelin, AT-4 (Cheaper Carl Gustav), and TOWs but doctrine-wise, infantry are not expected to take on tanks from the get-go.
We have every other asset that can do that instead.

I don't think that's what the manufacturers keep in mind when making their weapons.
