Was searching for pictures of Russian machine-guns, when I came across this.

Looks like a 'sawed-off' RPD, shown here in use with a member of the Rhodesian security forces. Apparently it is a field modification, and not officially manufactured.
Cool picture of one found in Iraq:

And here's one being used in Vietnam by what looks like a member of the US forces.

Chopped high caliber things are awesome
Muhreens are getting closer to choosing a new IFV. The finalists are:

SAIC Terrex 2
Lockheed's Patria knock-off and General Dynamics' Piranha variant didn't make it

Are those things taller than a bradley lol
Maybe it's because I've never really paid attention to IFV's but wow those are big
The BAE/Iveco SuperAV seems to have a rather low ground-clearance. Is my eyes messing with me or is it that low on purpose?
Terrex looks like some real 2142-esque shit.

Speaking of 2142. I loved the weapon designs of that game. Especially the EU ones.

I think the Shadows make it look a bit lower than it is. It's also fucking huge so what may look like a small amount of clearance is actually a few feet by scale. The Russians are also making fucking gigantic wheeled IFVs, so I guess this is where things are going in the near future.

Man, the C-119 Flying Boxcar was pretty decently huge on the inside

How long till? More like 'how long since?'.

In warfare, giant tanks turned out to be nothing more than giant targets. And now with the advent of precision missile strikes, there is even less of a point to them.

Huh, I've never seen these jackets and hoods.
Maybe it's some special forces thing. I know the Danish frogmen wear seaweed on their head.

Or if you reverse image search it, you find the word 'tiedustelija' which google translate tells me means scout. Can't find more pictures of those hoods though.
Our commando's are just regular guys man

No bullshit!
Visibility in lowlight or muddy water will suck with those hoods/netting, no matter how good your eyesight is.
Dont forget, photo OP loadouts rarely portray what these guys actually wear in the field.

i for one wish that the nazis had built the Landkreuzer just so the Allies could have bombed it to shit after it got stuck in mud or something embarrassing like that

That means it works.

Those nettings are standard issue camouflage gear, just really a tea-pot-hider in brown and green, issued to everyone. Why those guys decided to limply drape it over their helmets, I don't know, but the idea is that it basically breaks up the head-neck area and is still see-through with no problem.

They do look rather open (netting wise) might score a couple for ~BB operationz~
Talking about camo and gear, gotta love these Ruskie suits:

They make a .22LR replica.
STG-44 replicas are neat, but 7.9mm Kurz > 22LR anyday.
:joy:
Finally a real STG repro!

Agree, but this is the only legal way you can own one without a Class III license. However, a company in Germany is supposedly going to be recreating them in their full caliber in semi-auto and shipping them worldwide. If that's true, then it will soon be legal to own one in 7.9. I pretty much have a fetish for WWII weapons and all German weapons.
