Speaking of drunken engineering I had positive responses to my dieselpunkish stuff last time, so maybe some of you would get a jolly out of this thing im making. The point of it is to amplify a human being to the level of being able to wrestle 10 foot tall bad things, or something similar. Gonna give it a rifle if time permits. I like the get-up-ski-thing on his chest and that the arms come out from the backpack instead of shoulders, it's a nice touch that makes it the perfect amount of weird.
Youre talking about the pillow thing on his side there? Yeah thatl absorb the recoil of his rifle.
Oh that's what it's for. I thought it was a piston to push himself upright if he fell flat on his face.
yeah that's exactly what I was gonna say before I decided to check the next page just in case I mean the idea itself is solid but the execution is just so bizarre now if you want a proper good modern adaptation of a Shakespeare play I remember really liking Coriolanus, myself it actually managed to have war scenes that were both dramatic in the classic drama sense and well just good war scenes (aside from the bizarre thing where they kept using semi auto, I guess these were the fabled military grade semi automatic assault rifles gun control people keep harping on about? :v: ) and Ralph Fiennes absolutely killed it in it
tbh Coriolanus is probably worse since it has the 2010 version of tonal-chaos whereas Romeo+Juliet has the 90s tonal-chaos that's less silly and more hilarious.
Oh that's what it's for. I thought it was a piston to push himself upright if he fell flat on his face.
I thought it was speakers for his bangin' sound system.

Used by the afghan's against the british.
British Brown Bess smoothbore muskets were effective at only 150 yards and accurate at 50 yards. Because of their advantage in range, Afghan rebels typically used the jezail from the tops of cliffs along valleys and defiles during ambushes. This tactic repeatedly devastated the British during their doomed retreat from Kabul to Jalalabad.

Afghan snipers were expert marksmen and their juzzails fired roughened bullets, long iron nails or even pebbles over a range of some 250 metres. The Afghans could fling the large rifles across their shoulders as if they were feathers and spring nimbly from rock to rock. They loved to decorate their rifles: [Lieutenant James] Rattray writes of finding one adorned with human teeth.
Its like something from a fantasy game

I saw them after the revolution when they were sorting through his stuff (that he had either directly stolen from the state or bought using stolen money).
Equilibrium has a ton of gun-kata, hell even what Zakkin mentioned about fencing with long slides, theres a scene where the main protag does just that with the antag.
Now I'm even more ashamed that I completely forgot about Equilibrium, even though it's one of my favorite fucking movies.
So how about this cannon

Rear upper handle is pulled back to arm the spring. And the long thin trigger below is pulled to fire. Im not a certified gunsmith, but to my logic this gun would work.
very inefficient and home-made sounding i love it
I'd make the rear handle static and give the cannon a cock-on-closing action (so pulling the front handle back after loading a round charges the firing mechanism).

Ill probably switch it up or make something entirely different.

Would special forces units be displaying a big American flag across their chests? I thought they tried to keep symbols like that a bit more hidden
Would special forces units be displaying a big American flag across their chests? I thought they tried to keep symbols like that a bit more hidden
Depends on the mission. If they're doing a more low-key operation, they'll remove any identifying gear. But for direct action raids involving multinational forces, they'll wear it easily identify themselves from the other country's units since they all tend to wear similar uniforms and gear. The joint-raid with the Kurdish Special Forces comes to mind. Usually the enemy assumes that people with that kind of gear are Americans anyways.

I've always like the barrel mods SF do to their guns Also, they seem to be moving away from M4s and sticking to HKs in recent years

I didn't know skorpion barrel attachments came in "Proboscis" length
I didn't know skorpion barrel attachments came in "Proboscis" length
It's quieter than flagella length!
I didn't know skorpion barrel attachments came in "Proboscis" length
This is actually the Skorpion's distant relative, the Mosquito. In addition to the proboscis, you might also notice that its really fucking annoying.
Agh, the lighting makes it look like the barrel is drooping

Today, while bitterly frustrated that all the drums I could find for the Vz61 are apparently airsoft or Hollywood props only, I decided to fix that little problem and make a drum, or at least try my best. I cut the feed tower from a 20rd mag, reshaped the feed lips on a Kp31 drum, did some drilling and tapping, and started running into problems. First of all, the tower is too wide to reliably feed rounds from the single stack drum. To fix this, I had to machine a couple of aluminum blocks that now sit inside the tower, on each side. These blocks keep the rounds more or less in one column, fixing that particular issue. The next problem was having the rounds creep forward enough that they wouldn't smoothly feed from the drum into the tower occasionally. To fix that, a ramp adjustment on the inside of the drum was all that was needed. The Kp31 drum already has a couple of "fingers" in place right below the feed lips to deal with rounds that are too far forward, so a bit of tweaking and now they pull 9x18mm into the right position for the tower. Other than some dummy rounds linked together and against the follower, that's pretty much all there was to it. I'll be running another few hundred rounds through it before taking the cap screws out and welding it all up, but so far so good!

Agh, the lighting makes it look like the barrel is drooping
It's that awkward angle, its actually standing up slightly crooked from the stock, but the picture is sideways
