[editline]15th December 2015[/editline] But doing actual reading on it turns out it ain't all that shit. Made for paratroopers so the tiny size makes sense, it's light as fuck and does a decent job at taking out fortified insurgent positions; with the added bonus compared to other single-use rocket launchers of being able to be fired indoors or from vehicles without killing everything, ever.
Minimalistic design, made for soldiers dropping into combat zones so they can have a chance against vehicles, simple and fires the same ordnance as conventional shaped-charge launchers?? It does the job.

It does the job.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-76_Komar seems like it never really worked, plus it never saw combat at all
he weapon was adopted by the Polish Army in 1985 as "RPG-76 Komar", and with the warhead incapable of penetrating the front armor of modern western tanks it became a specialized weapon, never to be deployed by regular troops. It was produced in the Precision works in Niewiadów, Poland.

seems like it never really worked, plus it never saw combat at all
Literally that exact page;
In the year 2003 (before Polish engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan) it was withdrawn from front line units due to the limited anti-tank capabilities of the grenade. Polish involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan have changed the case. Polish Airborne and Special forces in the past, used the Komar in Iraq, and now uses in Afghanistan.

Polish units in Iraq and Afghanistan (ISAF) are equipped with Komar launchers.

Komar is an effective antipersonnel weapon, against light armored vehicles and firing posts.

Wouldn't it be more effective if it would explode as you loaded the magazine up with rounds; so it actually blows up at a point where you're almost certain that someone got it in their hand?

I guess the plan is they're hoping an enemy combatant sees this magazine with rounds still loaded in it lying on the ground, and rather than just leaving it alone, they pick it up and use it for their own weapon like a video game.

Well guys I guess we have to get rid of all our Yugoslavian stuff since Boris lost one of those booby trapped mags in there last week, oh darn [editline]14th December 2015[/editline] I don't understand the design though, why make it an ak-47 mag, why would they potentially boobytrap their own stores like that, this had to only be useful against insurgents that might have smuggled a bunch of soviet weapons. The idea is fantastic though, but maybe a bit impractical when your possible uses are 1) a soldier with a comparable rifle picks it up 2) you send a couple of them with a bunch of crates of arms
This isn't too complicated of an idea guys, Western nations used booby-trapped ammunition in Vietnam and IIRC there have been reports of it showing up in the Middle East this decade as well. Similar ideas were used by the Germans in WW2, who cut grenade fuses extremely short when retreating from Russia. The idea is to mix in some trapped ammo in with an ammo cache as you retreat, or as a deliberate plant during a covert operation. The enemy recovers the sabotaged ammunition and distributes it through their own supply lines. By the time they realize what's happening, it's too late to track it down. Soldiers start exploding at random and then the troops have to choose between a logistics problem or a morale problem. Particularly with spiked ammunition or grenades there's no way to identify it so the only solution is to just toss the whole batch. With a spiked magazine like this, a lot more explosive filler can be contained than in a single round, making it less likely to just destroy the gun and more likely to kill the operator. Notice how the filler is contained in a metal case- instant fragmentation grenade. And it's still hard to identify since unloading it manually will cause it to detonate. In Eastern Europe and the Middle East, spiking AK mags or ammo is a surefire way to get it into the enemy supply chain since everyone uses them, and insurgents and third-rate armies typically loot ammo whenever possible. It's an effective weapon, but like minefields, it's indiscriminate, and that makes it a huge problem for whoever's doing clean-up after cessation of hostilities.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-76_Komar seems like it never really worked, plus it never saw combat at all
Seems like it's something thats more useful for taking out IFVs and lightly armoured shit than MBTs
Seems like it's something thats more useful for taking out IFVs and lightly armoured shit than MBTs
ya but the point was they started out making it be able to take out tanks, by the time they actually got it into production and fielded, tanks had gotten way too tough for it, now they've got a whole bunch of them stockpiled and they have to come up with other uses for it instead
ya but the point was they started out making it be able to take out tanks, by the time they actually got it into production and fielded, tanks had gotten way too tough for it, now they've got a whole bunch of them stockpiled and they have to come up with other uses for it instead
So basically the Polish version of the LAW...
ya but the point was they started out making it be able to take out tanks, by the time they actually got it into production and fielded, tanks had gotten way too tough for it, now they've got a whole bunch of them stockpiled and they have to come up with other uses for it instead
Very few hand held anti-tank launchers are capable of defeating the armor of semi-modern main battle tanks. That doesn't mean that they aren't usable, since they are well suited for dealing with all sorts of technicals, AFV's and armored cars that are much more prominent in many war zones across the world.
ya but the point was they started out making it be able to take out tanks, by the time they actually got it into production and fielded, tanks had gotten way too tough for it, now they've got a whole bunch of them stockpiled and they have to come up with other uses for it instead
Literally the same story as the A-10, if you think about it. All sorts of weapons designed to fight conventional militaries during the Cold War have been repurposed for counter-insurgency use. Anti-materiel/bunker busting has become a practical application of many obsolete anti-tank weapons.
So my tutor just got a Krag-Jørgensen rifle as an early christmas gift. I need new friends.
It's a machine gun!

Seven to ten round bursts if you're on a heavy weapon like that. Show 'em you mean business, not just be an oversized, immobile rifle.

Someone in the comments mentioned that it's probably due to the soldier being used to the MG3, where a burst of that length would result in a wider area than on the M2.
Still not as cool as this

I like how hes kinda walking around like "yeah, this is how I'm going to get KIA"

Okay to be honest though I'd get a massive boner from firing any full auto MG, not just the M2.

Hey, who wants a Ma Deuce in .380??? [t]https://homemadeguns.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/bulletboxofdoom.jpg[/t] Brazil, oh Brazil. :goodjob:
and people said the fallout pipe rifle was too impossible, well except the fallout gun has the mainspring somehow inside the breach, that looks a bit heavy for a sub machinegun
