Randy Shughart's M14 from the Black Hawk Down incident.
I struggle to believe that's his rifle, especially with the wanky logo on the stock.
This seems like a reasonable future soldier equipment system. No fancy gadgets, just modular, scalable equipment and an interesting looking spinal load bearing system. I wonder how long it'll take them to actually get it out to everyone
I'd love to know how that works and what happens to the weight distribution if the system fails.
I'd love to know how that works and what happens to the weight distribution if the system fails.
Seems to be some rigid strap thing which, when extended, puts more of the weight on your waist. I don't think it physically lets you carry more than you could anyway, just the same amount comfortably for longer. If it failed suddenly I guess the suddenly change with heavy weight could cause a rupture. Looks cool, I like that sort of realistic expectation future infantry stuff.
I struggle to believe that's his rifle, especially with the wanky logo on the stock.
It isn't, it's another rifle based of the movie/pictures. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_6/453092_SFC_Shughart__BlackHawkDown__M14_Tribute.html

Oh jesus yes thank you very much
The deagulls always make me giggle like a fucking idiot
They do look neat. At the shop/range I go to they had one for sale and I asked to see it, after looking and pumping it a few times I asked who it was from since I couldn't see a marking yet and he said "Kel-Tec." I couldn't throw the thing back at him fast enough, I even went "Uuuuugggggghhhhhhhh." He was laughing and nodding his head and said "Yeah we will never sell this." Kel-Tec needs to just stop making firearms all together. Even if only 1 out of 100 Kel-Tecs broke that would still be an astronomically high failure rate, but it's closer to 30 out of 100. Even Kel-Tecs own forms are filled with threads of "How do I keep it from breaking?" "It broke again." "Can you fix it?" My favorite is when people try to defend them. "WELL MR. ZIMMERMAN USED ONE AND IT WORKED!" Yeah, and it jammed and broke after the first shot, the casing never ejected. Kel-Tecs are going to get people killed they need to just stop until they can make one that actually works. With most firearms everytime you fire it you're closer to breaking it in and giving it age, with Kel-Tecs you're just one more shot from it breaking. When Kel-Tec even demos a gun it breaks during demos, they will put quality guns out for police and guards but everyone else gets the real Kel-Tec "quality." Here's a video of how bad the shotgun is. I'd trust this more than a Kel-Tec.
Ok so that second video. That slide mechanism to chamber a round. That can't be safe, right? I mean, you're literally putting your finger right onto the barrel's tip to charge it.
Goes the G3 anchor mean something?
Goes the G3 anchor mean something?
It's heavy.
It's heavy.
Should have picked an M14.

And if the fucking thing jams on you and you throw it at the attacker, it would at most confuse them, as to why you threw a toy gun at them.
I love the G3, it's the heaviest and most meaty rifle I've ever fiddled.
I love the G3, it's the heaviest and most meaty rifle I've ever fiddled.
in about a year (a bit more) or so I will get a G3 (AK4, but wateva) as my service rifle it looks nice but apparently a nightmare to carry around
in about a year (a bit more) or so I will get a G3 (AK4, but wateva) as my service rifle it looks nice but apparently a nightmare to carry around
Yeah, but it's better than being a MG I would imagine.
in about a year (a bit more) or so I will get a G3 (AK4, but wateva) as my service rifle it looks nice but apparently a nightmare to carry around
Nah, its heavy but youll get used to it. I myself am a MGs assistant which means I have to lug ammo boxes and belts along with my own gun and ammo. Pictured: my own service rifle [editline]24th December 2015[/editline] Also dont notice the Swedish flag because I am on my phone. I am 100% estonian like Turing
This is the first time i've seen two foregrips seriously attached to a gun lol
This is the first time i've seen two foregrips seriously attached to a gun lol
Dont ask, they were there by default, usually we just remove the foregrip and leave the angled grip on because its really good.
Dont ask, they were there by default, usually we just remove the foregrip and leave the angled grip on because its really good.
didn't know you could tactic00l your rifle in service, sweet
didn't know you could tactic00l your rifle in service, sweet
Depends on where you go, our models are newer and thus tacticool but you still might get the old stock G3A3 model somewhere else.
Depends on where you go, our models are newer and thus tacticool but you still might get the old stock G3A3 model somewhere else.
Lucky bastards. The rifles we used were more than 10 years old and is a bitch to clean. The tacticool are reserved for special forces/rangers equivalent
Lucky bastards. The rifles we used were more than 10 years old and is a bitch to clean. Cleaning, jamming and wear&tear isnt a problem.

What is this? It's like a weird mix between an MG15 and a Vickers. [t]http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/attachments/world-firearms/579175d1381101695-st61-converted-mg15-securedownload-2.jpg[/t] Or is it still an MG15, but some sort of water-cooled variant?
It looks a bit to well built for a garage job. The receiver looks like it's wrapped in Bakelite.

Apparently the glock 19 may now be the navy seals gun of choice http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-navy-seals-may-have-selected-a-new-pistol-of-choice-1749620057

I have seen some pictures of the MG15 in use on the ground without this type of system, were those ones not have been water cooled then?
