It looks like what they used to come up with the assault rifle in Fo4
Interesting. I have seen some pictures of the MG15 in use on the ground without this type of system, were those ones not have been water cooled then?
They were air cooled because they could be at altitude, and they couldn't have the extra weight of a water cooled gun.
Aircraft version:

There are quite a few pictures of the air cooled variants in ground use, either as anti-aircraft or anti-personell

Apparently this is because: "Starting in late 1940 the MG 15 was replaced by the Mauser 7.92 mm MG 81, MG 81Z (twin-MG 81), MG 131 13 mm machine guns, or MG 151/20 20 mm cannons. Many MG 15s were modified for infantry use as heavier weapons replaced them on Luftwaffe aircraft".

This looks a lot better than I expected. Interesting to see how the monolithic upper changes the recoil characteristics. Also they missed a great opportunity to call it the AKB47, but they still have time.

It's definitely one of the better mortar units for Blufor in Wargame.

It's fairly good for what it is, designed for rapid indirect firepower, with advanced computer units to allow for multitude of modes. Allows the vehicles to shoot and scoot as mortar units, setting up at a moments notice.
I saw few of them back when I was doing my service time, they seemed pretty nifty.

so
literally a spacegun
I guess it's true that the M1911 is universally loved, even a meteorite wanted to be part of one.
