A member of the Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force 1st Airborne Brigade takes part in an annual new year military exercise at Narashino exercise field in Funabashi, east of Tokyo, Japan, on January 10, 2016. About 500 soldiers and 19 aircraft conducted an island defense display based on a scenario of counter the military threat of invasion on Japanese territory islands by a hostile country, according to military officials. #

camo done right
That's not camo, the grass people are swarming the vehicle; look, the guy on top is terrified!
oh shit a moving bush
My boner is very conflicted right now. It doesn't seem like they used the right bakelite, but goddamn do I love east-bloc metal rusting.
Actually that reminds me... Does anyone still have that 4chan picture of a guy from /k/ finding an SKS while magnet fishing in a lake, and then he did a complete restoration job on it? IIRC, it had a really fucking unique metal finish which was pretty awesome looking.
I'm still hoping someone could find this last bit! It seems to be a thing within the gun community to refurbish guns found at the bottom of lakes.

I mean fuck, why throw away a good gun? A little bit grinding, some cleanup work, and re-rifling the barrel is all ya gotta do! :dog:
Surefire, SOG Knives & Tools, AR500 Armor, Team Wendy , Armasight, Inc., Wilcox Industries Corp., and TEA Headsets partnered with that guy who made tacticool Mandalorian armor to make actual ballistic Mandalorian armor for SHOT show.

If AR500 is involved, I'm guessing those are steel plates. Also they should probably mount lasers to the wrists if they have rails there.
I'm sorry but that looks beyond stupid - it's fusing star wars and tacticool and those two things do not mix.
also that fucking H&K patch, good lord
helmet looks too big or oversized
helmet looks too big or oversized
i'm assuming because we are stuck to using transparent materials to provide sight instead of some *spacemagic* so it has to be scaled enough to actually see out of
[t]http://www.starwarshelmets.com/stevswedebob3.jpg[/t]
i mean the prop had like a 1/2 inch slit so you'd be pretty blind
still as far as protection is concerned, that suit seems to be from the anime school of armor as the midriff is completely unprotected
I fucking love this
slap an integrated laser somewhere in there and this is my dream space pistol
Apparently they have some ideas about making a channel in the bottom of the suppressor for a laser/light module of their own design rather than just slapping an accessory rail and hanging more things under the suppressor.
Also the vertical lines along the front are removable baffles that allow you to shorten the profile of the suppressor/barrel. Kind of like this:

I'll never understand how other british people can like british stuff like Brens and Enfields. It's all become so dull and uninteresting to me, probably through overexposure.
The Stoner 63 is a better bren gun than the bren gun ever was.

I had a Lithgow Bren at my place a few months ago. It's the most unwieldy firearm I've ever had.
Man, fuck, how can you guys not love the Bren? It's basically a BAR, except in stead of being awful, it's pretty good and also rad as fuck looking.
Man, fuck, how can you guys not love the Bren? It's basically a BAR, except in stead of being awful, it's pretty good and also rad as fuck looking.
Aren't the sights canted off to the side?
Not canted, but they're offset to see past the big stupid magazine.
I don't nessecarily think Brens are ugly. They sure as fuck aren't pretty, but my personal gripe with them is that they're just not interesting.
Man, fuck, how can you guys not love the Bren? It's basically a BAR, except in stead of being awful, it's pretty good and also rad as fuck looking.
Legit curious, what made it better than the BAR? I'm guessing weight?

Also having 30 round magazines.
Also having 30 round magazines.
didn't loading it with 30 rounds jam it much more frequently than loading it with 29?
didn't loading it with 30 rounds jam it much more frequently than loading it with 29?
Well, you do that for pretty much every magazine to preserve spring tension
Aren't the sights canted off to the side?
People really need to understand that sights not being on a vertically straight axis with the barrel is not a problem. The sight of a Bren is closer to the bore axis than the sights of an AR15, so even in an imaginary world where this little thing actually does matter, it's very slight on it.
Well, you do that for pretty much every magazine to preserve spring tension
yea dude this is a normal thing for soldiers to load less than full cap. full cap can cause jamming as well as mess on the spring.
Legit curious, what made it better than the BAR? I'm guessing weight?
Barrel changes, bigger magazine, better ergonomics, top-mounted mag is best mounted mag for LMGs of that era.
yea dude this is a normal thing for soldiers to load less than full cap. full cap can cause jamming as well as mess on the spring.
As far as I hear it's mostly a problem with cheaper or older magazines. I hear of people having no problem loading full cap on certain magazines.
