I will now retract back into my shell and lurk for several more months before feeling confident enough to post again in this thread
Well, better to be curious and ask than to just either not know, or be confidently wrong.
Take my money! seriously though, that's be awesome in .380 or something, how cool would it be if they made specialized .38spl rounds for it or something.
Ya but in .38 you can just do delayed blowback so it makes having all that stuff irrelevant
i'm trying to piece together whats going on here
Probably one of those Enfield-based Aussie civilian guns in weirdass calibers because for a long time it was the only thing they had for civilians, far as I recall.
Speaking of which, have some modern Indian Lee-Enfields re-chambered in 8x50R Mannlicher
Is that supposed to be a MG42??
MG3, halfway field-stripped and then the guys decided to have some fun, shoving random shit random places and taking a photo.

It's hard to ruin an Enfield. They're kind of ugly to begin with. Plus, they made like a million of them. If it's not a rare variant then it's not really any big deal if someone modified it. On a different note, I went to a gunshow on Friday. In amongst the millions upon millions of identical o/u shotguns, I found this. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/IMG_0500.jpg[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/IMG_0501.jpg[/t] I couldn't see any markings besides those you can see in the picture. It had that little spot of weld at the front of the reciever, so I was suspicious it might be a deact, but it's on a stall with nothing but actual firearms so I guess it's probably been modified to be straight-pull bolt action. Makes a change from the usual stuff you see over here. I also saw an M16A2 carbine but I was too busy drooling to take any photos.

They're hands down my favourite rifle ever.
Many people remember the Ontos solely for its unique armament of six 106mm recoilless rifles What is frequently overlooked, however, is the vehicle's effective role as a battlefield mattress :v:
I wanna get one of these guys. They look like so much fun to play with.

Are 90s video game weapons finally coming true? On an more realistic note, I doubt it's any bit practical and is quite heavy. But still, double barrel pump shotgun so who cares.
It's hard to ruin an Enfield. They're kind of ugly to begin with. Plus, they made like a million of them. If it's not a rare variant then it's not really any big deal if someone modified it.
While I agree with your second point, I have to say fuck you to the first. Enfields have so much beautiful detailing and tiny little things that make 'em so absolutely pretty. Take this one, just a random No1 Mk3 I found on a google search. [t]http://i.imgur.com/mLDnBXw.jpg[/t] First off, the buttplate and stock. Besides the pretty, reddish wood it's made in, it has this very nice, strangely British brass buttplate and whatever you call those little identification-disc-thingamabobs. [t]http://i.imgur.com/XHUUkef.jpg[/t] Then going up a little higher, we get to the grip, trigger and bolt area. Notice how the grip has a little 'heel' on it sticking out at the bottom, clearly and definitively defining where the grip ends and the stock begins. The trigger itself has a smooth, pleasing, constant ¿-shape to it. The bolt-handle is neither jutting out straight like a nugget or a sharp bend like a G98, instead being a smooth curve mounted at an angle, sleek and close to the receiver and laying beautifully over my personal favourite part of the visual design; the connecting piece of metal between buttstock and forearm of the rifle; adding a sense of aesthetic balance in the form of a border where the visual weight of the broad, curved buttstock meets the more sleek, elongated front. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Un84LZ8.jpg[/t] Going up a little more, we get the main part of the action; the rear-sight and the (for its time) very modern high-capacity magazine. This is probably my personal least favourite part of the rifle from a visual standpoint, mainly because it is so plain and generic-looking, and that wood-screw in the middle is an eyesore. The rear sight is a beauty, though; very robust and mechanical-looking as it juts out from the organic wood. [t]http://i.imgur.com/aL7JSVn.jpg[/t] And finally, what most people seem to like the most about the No. 3, the boomy-end. Broad-eared front-sight, jutting bayonet-lug, hidden muzzle behind a smooth, rounded, single piece of metal that smoothly curves around the stock, joining the hard, British industrialist steel with the more romantic-literature-reminiscent smooth, reddish brown wooden-stock that binds the entire thing together; obscuring the tiny visible stump of the barrel but with a small window to peek in on that vital part, as if to say "Yes, this is a rifle, not a piece of art". [t]http://i.imgur.com/XtsUwDi.png[/t] Of course, next to none of this was intended in the production of the rifle, it was simply the optimal way of making a stick shoot people dead back in its' day, but looking at it shows a weapon that is strangely characteristically British in its detailing, and very aesthetically pleasing at that.
Damn, must have been hell expensive to manufacture.
Krag > Enfield
Ain't trying to say Enfield is the most beautiful rifle out there, just saying that claiming it's ugly or visually uninteresting is something I disagree strongly with, just like any one of you guys will probably disagree with me saying that the Springfield M1903 (Without any A-number, the original version) is boring and made entirely of straight lines. #realrifleshavecurves
[t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/94/M1903-Springfield-Rifle.jpg[/t] For reals. It looks like a 11 year old drew a rifle. From the trigger guard to the buttplate, it's just one straight line.
Springfield lacks the soul the Enfield has.
