bathroom is an arsenal
It was originally designed to be used for one-armed/one-handed shooting. People found that it made a decent stock and used it to bypass the ATF and SBR laws. After much bragging by the users, the ATF had the last laugh with re-designating the brace to be only be legal if it is not modified at all( includes removing the strap), have it strapped to your arm or have it not touch your shoulder (cheek weld is legal). Shouldering it causes it to be "remanufactured" into a SBR and thus is illegal without paying a tax, serializing the receiver, and getting approval.
Basically a load of bullshit.
Actually, it wasn't the bragging that did it, it was the legions of morons asking the ATF if they could attach the Sig brace to things for the express purpose of circumventing the NFA, and the ATF even said that this is why they made the ruling.
I never understood the gun accessories restrictions in US.
How da fuck is a buttstock difference going to make it more deadly

A question of firepower-to-size, I guess, made before 5.56-pistols and bullpup rifles were a thing.

How is a 16" barreled rifle any less deadly than a 10" one?
Suppressors and machineguns remain highly regulated here thanks to their highly inaccurate portrayal in movies and TV shows.
Happens any time the regulators know nothing about what they're regulating; the 1994 AWB was based mostly on cosmetics.

The problem is if they ban specific guns by name like caly did with the tec-9, gun manufacturers simply rebrand it and suddenly a tec-9 isn't that anymore it's an AB-10 totally different.
The 1994 awb wasn't good anyways, but the whole SBR ban has been around from long before modern rifles existed, back when a rifle was a few feet long, it's arbitrary but getting anything modern to replace it is next to impossible because of loopholes, lobbying, and political squabbling

A 10" barrel isn't more deadly, at least in terms of firepower. It is more concealable however, which was the whole point of the NFA. Hell handguns almost made it on the bill back in 1934 for just that point. Remember too that suppressors were on the bill long before the media could warp the peoples perceptions of such.
IMO Machine guns are a given, though it would be nice to have the registry open again. Suppressors should be completely off, same with everything else. When it comes to crime handguns are still going to be the first choice, and if a criminal really wants an SBR/SBS it's not that hard to use a hacksaw or swap an upper.
Is that the gunpod mounted 'cause the internal cannon doesn't work yet?
Nevermind I'm an idiot, internal gun is only A model, B and C got it external.

Isn't 4-bore in the same classification as cannons?

Yeah. He did tell me he got some injuries once. I also believe that there is a recommended amount of shots you can fire a day with 4-bore rifles. Going above that limit can result in some minor injuries.
Isn't 4-bore in the same classification as cannons?
Nope. There is 2-bore rifles out there. Which is still considered rifles. I do believe that after the 2-bore we're talking about cannons/artillery

2-bore is, as Ian said, beyond all practicallity. Only time I've heard of 2-bore rifles is people who owned them for bragging rights and just because.

I really have a great deal of respect for tank drivers. The idea that you are trapped in what is effectively a slightly up armored tincan, which can at any moment be wiped off the map by a simple rocket with a guidance system... It just doesn't sit right with me.
Actually, just about any vehicle in war is like that. At least as infantry you have the ability to at least get away from most things, with a vehicle your chances of escape after substantial damage are pretty bad.
Anyway, a few weeks ago a really popular improvised weapon maker from Spain known as Drak Preepers was arrested. For the most part, it was his own bad, but the guy is definitely one of the more interesting and prolific posters on how to build your own weapons and handy items. If you can understand Spanish, I'd recommend taking a look at his videos.
One of my absolute favorites by him is his constant series on how he makes crossbows:

Yep I see how they pitched that to the airforce

Honestly, the most scary military profession for me is submarine sailor. Burning in a tank sucks, but at least tank crews have a small chance of getting out of their vehicle, while all it's left for you if your sub gets hit is just slowly sinking or suffocating in that not even armored tincan somewhere deep underwater with virtually no chances of getting away from it alive.
But anyway, I guess all these people just don't have time to be afraid while in combat, so it doesn't really matter in which tincan you're in.
