By tomorrow, we'll see that Ignhelper has popped a cap in 6 world leader's heads with 5 rounds of nugget food.
Well I was doing intelligence for thevarmy back then...:what: Okay but not any longer
LSAT posted another video.
That is a pretty fuckin' cool chamber setup.
ST Kinetics Squad Support Weapon A 5.7 PDW with a magazine-fed programmable 40mm launcher strapped on top. Because reasons. Spacegun as fuck, though. Only 6 kgs fully loaded with 4 grenades and 20 rounds of 5.7x28, enough firepower in the PDW-part to kill a mid-sized rodent. [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] Clearer view of the gun. Sadly with a disgusting, gross 9gag watermark, but it's the best picture google-searches put out.

Seems like an unusual mechanism. What would the advantages of it operating it like that be? [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] oh hello new page [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] I'm on about this post
LSAT posted another video.

Wonder if it's field serviceable? That mechanism looks like it need to be timed right to function, like a revolver.
The mechanism seems like a bad idea to me. It think you may be right about servicing being difficult.
LSAT posted another video.
I remember hearing that if the LSAT LMG system panned out, that DARPA/DOD was considering pursuing an LSAT assault rifle? I hope that's the case; seems the LMG system's pretty good, and the M4s and M16A3s and A4s the USMC and Army use are getting pretty darn old compared to other modern weapons.

Combiweapons are usually a stupid idea irl.
That looks like a nightmare to hold
Looks like a fucking nerf gun!
How the hell do you make a 5.7 gun so ridiculously huge, jesus christ like what's the percentage of 40mm to PDW here :v:
From the looks of it, about 12% PDW, 23% 40mm, and 65% polymer
How the hell do you make a 5.7 gun so ridiculously huge, jesus christ like what's the percentage of 40mm to PDW here :v:
Using this as a guide for the Kinetics Squad gun, you can more or less guess the massive size is because of the massive as fuck programmable grenade launcher. Remove it and you're left with an anorexic looking gun. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a9/Oicw_separated.jpg[/t]
looks p cool standalone tbh [editline]8th March 2016[/editline] that with an actual stock :ok:
At least I'm not the only one who thinks the XM29 would look p'cool without the massive launcher.
At least I'm not the only one who thinks the XM29 would look p'cool without the massive launcher.
I'm more interested in what happens when you strip out the rifle and leave the launcher: [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1a/Flickr_-_The_U.S._Army_-_Testing_the_new_XM-25_weapon_system.jpg[/t] It's a shame that it seems to be dead right now :c
Sorry for the shit edit, dont have photoshop installed. Doesn't look too bad with my stock of choice :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/xK7jSY1.jpg[/t]
FFV made a test weapon 1978 which combined an assault rifle with an Anti Tank rifle. Calibre 5.6x45mm and 45 mm blow back with arrow projectile. Rate of fire with 5.6mm 750 rounds per minute Rate of fire with 45 mm 5 rounds per minute Length over all 908mm Weight 5.4kg Its called NIVA
I know it's still only a prototype version, but you'd have thought they'd include some sights.
They're probably on the other side of the weapon. Over the shoulder makes the gun too high to put them on top.
If the launcher tube was telescopic, you could probably make it compact enough to use the rifle part like an actual rifle. And then fold it out when you're firing the rocket. Still a bit of a naff concept though
Let's hope you don't accidentally fire the anti-tank round whilst you're shouldering the gun.

The assault rifle part of the OICW was based off the G36, then it was turned into the XM8 when the OICW project was canned and they tried making something useful out of it.

It's made out of Banana Laffy Taffy.

On the one hand you have a squad member with a 20mm fuckyou cannon, on the otherhand...grenades are probably overkill in a lot of situations....especially when it's in the civilian packed towns of the middle east
