Well I wasn't talking about being burned alive in the cab, more that you are in a small metal box with a massive rocket shooting off, the noise would take a lot to get used to, though I guess tanks have it worse
I'm honestly not sure which is worse, but considering most modern weapons including small arms will fuck your hearing up significantly, it's without a doubt that the crews would have some form of hearing protection.

Ya but with a tank, you fire the gun a lot in practice, with multimilion dollar missile systems, how many times can they fire them in training? I guess though to get there you probably have to go through like artillery school so it's probably a moot point then

Simulators exist for a reason.
Artillery pieces can be fitted with an adapter that shoots pistol rounds, so crews can run through firing drills. Combat vic crewmen get multi-million dollar combat simulators to hone their maneuvering, gunnery and teamwork.
Hell, even truck drivers like me occasionally get the Army's version of those simulators they let you play with during driver's ed, but with 5-tons and HEMTTs and all that fun stuff.

the savage, which looks pretty modern in its own right, didn't stick around, ya i guess the military really helped but its interesting what kind of guns just died out.

It was considered less comfortable to shoot and had more failures over the 1911. Also reloading mags was a pain compared to the 1911's.

I guess that's true, but his later video he talks about how they greatly improved the quality of them. The 1911 wasn't without its own faults, they developed that gun for like 10 years
Damn, almost enough missiles!
Fuck, why is there an extra missile?!

After years of trying to get a replacement, the Marines are going to bolt on some more armor onto the AAV-7
The AAV SU, or Amphibious Assault Vehicle Survivability Upgrade, will build upon the existing hull. The upgrades include buoyant armor, blast-mitigating seats and spall liners. They will also include fuel tank protection and automotive and suspension upgrades to keep both land and sea mobility regardless of the added weight.
I saw pictures of that a while ago. I know the AAV doesn't have a great track record, but I love the aesthetic and the upgraded version looks pretty nice.
I'm glad that it's not being replaced with this ugly peice of shit.

Aww man, they got rid of the cool little lines on the sides.

It might be ugly but I want one, looks like it'd be easy to dig in.

To be honest, with a small paint job it can blend into any urban terrain by looking like a fucking garage.
Been playing some Wargame: Red Dragon recently and one of my favorite units in the game is the Otomatic. Found these nifty articles on the vehicle.

An 1980s Italian tracked AA prototype that used an autoloading 76 MM cannon and an all weather radar system for blowing shit out of the sky, blowing shit out of the sea, capable of smiting all who foes who dare fight against it. Apparently it out performed all other AA platforms at the time. Unfortunately no one bought it so it never got to prove itself.

The company then cried itself to sleep on the bathroom floor and decided 30 years later in 2010 to give it another shot with the Draco. It features the same gun, but it was upgraded onto a motorized platform which features nifty features such as run flat tires.
It's worth noting that both vehicles were capable of engaging any targets with a massive variety of shells and is overall an extremely flexible platform.
Some more detailed information on both vehicles here:

Thats what the Marines do. Hell it took damn near 50 years for them to retire the CH-46, and some of the air frames were that old. It took damn near 20 years for the replacement to actually become active.
