An interesting US nuclear-powered tank concept, the Chrysler TV-8. It was also designed to be amphibious, as shown in the second picture.

Lol, those rocket batteries (or w/e the fuck they are) actually look like giant holders for detachable screwdriver heads.
Those are rocket pods from aircraft :)

This confirms the idea that those treatsies were largely silly and made up by guys who never really did fight; and every book was a case of one-upmanship. "Oh, your book is fine, yes... But does it have the pommel-throwing technique?! Oh it doesn't? Then it clearly is not a complete encyclopedia of stabbing."

I always get the feeling that the person who designed this tank had little to no knowledge of tank warfare
I mean yes it's curved but you still present an outrageously large, high profile target with that tall of a turret, and then the other issue is, because it slopes down on the bottom, it becomes a huge bullet-trap that will deflect shells into the vehicle or into the ring that joins the turret and chassis

I don't know if it was back before SABOTs, but APFSDS won't deflect, it'll just shatter. Not to mention the huge profile was probably necessary for floating.

Even modern tanks have to worry about it, the merkava has those dangly chains on the back of the turret to deflect rounds when the turret is turned
Also another point, that tank would have been top heavy. The turret weighed 15 tons while the chassis weighed only 10, I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure you want a low center of gravity on a tank not a high one
Thai type 11 is pretty cool.

Dangling chains wouldn't do anything to 'deflect' rounds. Their purpose is to prematurely detonate RPG warheads before they actually come into contact with the armor, which is more likely to be thinner or more vulnerable back there.
I like the chains on the back of the Merkava's turret.
It's like tank wearing an exotic Eastern headdress.

You know it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have the M16 carrying handle/front sight on it.

Try removing the oddly tilted grip
If you really need a bullpup G3 in your life, I think this one is probably the best design.

Doesn't look too fun to escape from in the event the tank gets damaged badly.
What tank? Is it somewhere behind that giant bird cage?

A jungle gym of murder
Doesn't look too fun to escape from in the event the tank gets damaged badly.
Given the fate of most tanks in Syria, I doubt escaping would even be an option if anything significant got past their slat armor.
The only escaping the crew is likely to be doing is as a fine red paste through the hatches after the ammo detonates underneath where they're sitting.
