All those exploding guns. I have to assume the Syrian Army salted ammunition stockpiles with HE filled ammunition.
A while back someone posted the manual for creating a bomb that would be made to look like an AK magazine. People were calling it stupid, but again I reiterate its importance. Imagine having a standardized army in the field. One guy's AK suddenly explodes and takes off his hands, or worse, just outright kills him and seriously wounds his buddies. How do you know his was the only faulty magazine? Time to sit down, and painstakingly search through every armory and armorer you have, slow production of new magazines, and restock each and every soldier to ensure that nobody has a fucking bomb instead of a magazine in their pouch. That's time, money, organization and most of all will to go on being lost. Battles don't kill armies, a lack of determination does.
Except the WW2 reflex sights were specifically made for plane guns.
Hence the principally.
Hence the principally.
No reason it shouldn't work, so long as you zero it. [editline]11th April 2016[/editline]
All those exploding guns. I'm willing to bet it's taking a toll on the weapons.
Off topic to exploding syrian guns, it took me longer than I'd like to admit to understand how caseless ammunition worked.
Since almost the beginning of the civil war, the Syrian Arab Army, Russia and maybe China have been seeding the Syrian, Turkish and Iraqi black markets with dud and booby trapped ammunition, rockets. Additionally when the SAA has to give up a position, and can't take their ammunition with them, they dump it all together and weaken the casings on like 1 in every 100 or so rounds. Add onto this that most of the equipment and ammunition that isn't taken from the SAA has been sitting in storage since the 70s-80s.
I doubt it's weakened casings. Weakened casings wouldn't cause that much damage and it would be plainly visible to casual inspection.
The US had Project Eldest Son back in Vietnam doing the same thing; replace powder with det cord, and you have a kaboom. http://militaryhistorynow.com/2015/08/28/project-eldest-son-the-secret-u-s-scheme-to-sabotage-charlies-ammo/
[t]http://i.imgur.com/LwXOY2L.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/zXTCpB2.jpg[/t] Heavily upgraded T-64 "T-Rex" proposed/being developed by Azov's engineering group. Looks like they're trying to convert it into an Armata
Are they planning to upgrade existing T-64s to that design, or just build entirely new tanks using T-64 components? I wonder if they actually did any in-depth research into how effective any of that would be, or if they're just doing the unmanned turret thing because Russia is doing it.
I'm not sure I dig unmanned turrets. Seems like a whole bunch of bullshit to go wrong when you don't want it to if the autoloader fails, compared to a regular autoloader-tank where you can manually load it.

Easier to fix issues with the automated turret than to make a manned turret smaller/flatter. + its a futuristic
A lot of nations have used auto-loading turrets without issue for many decades. A more compact tank is a more armoured tank.
Its nice to have a smaller profile though. Easier to fix issues with the automated turret than to make a manned turret smaller/flatter.
Yeah, except no, because the modified T-64 they show there is significantly taller than a regular T-64. Everything above the height of the engine deck is new, so If you look at the side-view on the right, you can see the line between the top and bottom row of tiles on the hull which marks where top of the hull was on the old T-64. So they've basically taken a T-64 and added another turret's worth of height on top of it. You could theoretically make unmanned turrets smaller and flatter, but nobody seems to be really doing that these days. Both that thing and the Armata are significantly taller than the tanks they're supposed to be replacing.
A lot of nations have used auto-loading turrets without issue for many decades. But I guess no one really fights tank vs. tank, it's all tank vs. man with Rocks/AK-47/RPG-7.
If I could ever get a gun, all I would get is one of these bad boys. In any game that I've ever played, if one of these were on offer I'd take it, no matter how bad it was. I can't say why I love it so much but there's something to it.

Hey guys, I'd appreciate if you took time to fill out this survey about trapshooting that I need to do for class. It's my first time making a survey, so sorry if anything seems off. http://goo.gl/forms/78r8S3imMd Thanks guys!
At work one of our customers brought in a beautiful desert eagle for us to plate... in this disgusting glossy bronze I wish I was allowed to take pictures, I'd post them here God, it's so ugly, it looks like a sepia mirror

Only way to fix this is to buy another Desert Eagle and nickel plate it and polish the surface till it's like a mirror. Then find the customer and show them the error of their ways.
I like Desert Eagles in normal metal colors, black and silver, sans polish and plating.

Shiny metallic pistols make me sad. [t]https://i.imgur.com/3fZ2xFc.jpg[/t][t]https://i.imgur.com/TTup7l5.jpg[/t] Here's what happened to a Gold desert eagle after they let plebeians use it constantly.

If they are really concerned about it, a gram or two of gold is all you need to plate it properly.

It doesn't seem like it should be that much harder to have made that break action
