What's the reasoning behind this design?
The machine gun housed in there was water cooled, so the armored housing had to be designed to accomodate and protect the water cooling jacket around the barrel
My boyfriend used to collect deactivated guns and although I have no knowledge really, I liked this one, the TT-33, quite a lot because of it's appearance.

A Tokarev with a manual safety?
What manner of sorcery is this?

That's just a picture from Google, not my boyfriends actual gun, this is a photo of his gun http://i.imgur.com/2NFYrP4.jpg

Probably most compact way to hide a watercooled Vickers behind armour.
Is it coincidence that the M1911, Browning Hi-Power, and the TT-33 all have that kind of cutout/ridge in that one spot at the front end of the slide/undercarriage?
Has any company or military ever made an airpowered crossbow attachment for their rifles? After watching a few videos of soft armors being laughably penetrated by just about any 20lb crossbow, it sorta leads me to wonder if any military has considered something like it for battle.
What the shit even is airpowered crossbow? I was under the impression that using bow arms to proper the bolt is what makes it a crossbow. Unless you mean some sort of pneumatic launcher that fires bolts.
And sure, crossbows and bows go through kevlar, but plating they have a bit harder time with. And not even going to take range into consideration.
To elaborate, it wouldn't be useful in combat, and for sneaking about silently taking out sentries, they could just carry an actual crossbow which offers more power with slightly more weight, and doesn't require a compressed air canister to operate. Though some countries already have much better ways of doing so, like the VKS russians have.
And then there's the issue that if the compressed air tank's integrity was compromised, it could violently rupture, or become otherwise unusable.
Aand then there's the whole thing with bullets and temporary and permanent cavities, which increase internal damage, and which is not inherent of arrows or bolts so much, at least to my knowledge, though I could be wrong. But at the very least arrows or bolts don't break up inside the target, or yaw/tumble.

I mean 1911 and Hi-Power are both browning guns so that would explain those. Wasn't the Hi-Power a follow-up to the 1911? And then I'm sure the TT-33 was just a copy of the 1911 to an extent. That second part is coming straight out of my ass, so may not be true.

I think the intent is to cock the crossbow which can take a lot of force individually especially with modern crossbows being made out of really tough materials.
I remember reading somewhere about an experimental one but I've never seen anyone actually make a crossbow with a pneumatic cocking mechanism
[editline]11th May 2016[/editline]
Apparently there are both
There are pneumatic arrowguns which are basically air riffles that shoot crossbow bolts and there are autococking crossbows that have a gas cylinder to cock the bow with a single push of a button

The more you know. Doesn't make it any more viable though.

eh, who knows there are people that hunt with 10 bore muskets, a big 10 inch long bolt is going to make your target bleed out, especially when you've got a 3000 psi nitrogen bottle behind it

those big ass warning signs and the company name on the arms of the crossbow make it look considerably more like shit imo
Honestly, from what I figure having a mini-crossbow of sorts for hunting fish or small game would be an excellent item to put into a pilots bail out gear. Not to mention, it's far quieter then the standard .410/22LR survival kit.
I remember saying this here before, but one of these days I plan on designing a weapon which can alternate from a Girandoni Air Rifle system, paper-cartridges, and brass cartridges. The reason being that have such a weapon would be near-perfect for any survivalist situation. Even more-so if it had the ability to use a bundle of leafs as wadding, and good fire stones through a smooth-bore barrel with compressed air that could be produced via an inbuilt air pump.
Might just be me, but it's an idea worth going for. Such a weapon would be great for airmen that are shot down or simply giving it to the backpackers and hitchhikers that run astray in the wilderness.
There's a version with sound, should've posted that.
EDIT:
I would post it but I can't find it, though. A shame, the sound was really great.
I always expected those doors to slide open so slowly, that fucking thing fucking flew off

I want to see that launch, but with the door completely hidden by snow :v:
Who needs crossbows with the glorious DeLisle carbine :v:

Not personally directed at (or your idea) but I always find it funny that the american solution to a problem is almost always to throw guns at it. Like, I'm not even joking, it's such a common thing to behold.
The first one is a shop. The trigger wouldn't be able to go anywhere.
That's definitely an MP40 magazine/magwell and the upper looks mostly Sten based.

Is it me or that silo is HUGE? the green thingy at the left looks like a control tower, making the silo and missile look massive.

Nah, that green thing is just a vent of some sorts. Although ICBM that massive would be cool. And highly dangerous.

It's just some vent. The diameter of the rocket is roughly 2 metres.

For reference the little antenna thing on the rim is a little shorter than man height, its big but it isnt gigantic.
Another favorite of mine which is currently sitting in an ATF vault - Holmes Machine Pistol

Fuck man, I'd pay money for a semi-auto version of it.
Oh and from Nigeria...

What do you mean, I only see one pistol, next to the revolver and the banana :v:
That machete looking thing looks straight out of some post-apocalyptic movie, rad as fuck.
