Statistically, there are an infinite number of sentient, spacefaring lifeforms out there since the universe is infinite.
But the chances that any of them will ever meet us...?
The Universe is Infinite, but Matter is Finite, so there is not an infinite number of Sentient, Spacefaring Lifeforms (unless you factor in Multiverse Theory, in which case there is.)
However, Drakes Equation works this out quite well.

Based on the equation, there are 2.31 Civilizations in the Galaxy that can communicate through Interstellar Space (we're one of them.)
My head hurts stop it guys
that giant glow in the center of our galaxy is supposedly a black hole. man i love the discovery channnel
yes... there were people who thought we were the center of our galaxy, now show them this compared to that. hehe, watch us be on the edge of the galaxy.
There were people who thought we were the center of the universe, and that everything rotated around us.

Then take a break in OIFY.
Then take a break in OIFY.
Oh yeah that will help my head.
I'll replace the ideas of a massive universe with ideas of massive horse cock.

That was the OIFY of old. Now, it's more about idiocy without the suave moves that the most professional OIFY-ers used back then.
On topic:
Pulsars are fucking incredible.
I bet NASA has thousands of tb hard drives just sitting there.
They use them as ashtrays.
They use them as ashtrays.
Porn storage
D:
Holy shit... It's so big and awesome...
It almost makes me sick trying to comprehend just how fucking big the universe is.
Or that could be the cheesesteak I just had.
And we still have yet to fully explore our own planet.
It would seem that a deity if it existed is more interested in stars and planets than us tiny humans.

Hmmm? I thought I heard someone mention me.
Also, I'm not even gonna try to visualize how big the universe is. Also, yes there has to be life out there, and if there isn't life out there, then there is a god, or some sentient "being" otherwhys we wouldn't be the only life in the universe.
Actually seeing this validates my sense of worthlessness.
Actually seeing this validates my sense of worthlessness.
But you're not.
I was born like this
leave me alone
Well played sir
Can I now point out that there are lifeforms similar to Digimon out there and we will just never find them or will I be beaten and burned at the stake?
I'm serious but not serious but serious, no I'm really serious, but not really serious, but I am actually really serious, serious that we are the only form of intelligent life in the Universe. There is no other like ourselves; nothing else is capable of civilization, or even walking other than ourselves and animals. There are no aliens.
Statistically, that's impossible. There is a 1 in... Well, a number too long to type out, chance that we're the only intelligent life forms in the whole universe.

What the christ. My brain hurts...
Why can't things ever be simple >.<
Can I now point out that there are lifeforms similar to Digimon out there and we will just never find them or will I be beaten and burned at the stake?
Well, if it's an infinite universe...
Fucking christ, bookmarked.
Is it true that a supernova in our galaxy would turn night to day? I think I remember hearing that on some discover documentary. If so, I really hope to see one of these during my lifetime.
Well, the supernova that you might see happen has probably already happened. Most likely long before the beginnings of human civilization, it's just going to take a while for the light to get here.
This should be shown to all the people who think we are the center on the universe, or believe were the only sentient race.
Actually wishing to be in the center is the stupidest thing to do.
It looks much like a ton of neurons networked inside a brain.
my thoughts exactly.
Being sentient doesn't make us important.
Find an animal that disagrees.
Fuck yeah humanity rocks.
Here's a good video to watch.

The Drake Equation is speculative bullshit.
Can I now point out that there are lifeforms similar to Digimon out there and we will just never find them or will I be beaten and burned at the stake?
You will be. Because digimon are supposed to digital monsters with intelligence and supar dupar strength.
So no there aren't. Did I mention digimon sucks balls?
Well, we can't prove it at the moment, so what else are we going to do? Sit around and throw shit at each other in the observatories?
Well, we can't prove it at the moment, so what else are we going to do? Sit around and through shit at each other in the observatories?
Do you realize how much fun it would be to bust shit up in somewhere as fragile and expensive as an observatory?
Dude, fuck yes we should.

Well, when you put it that way you're absolutely right.
