rickenbacker bass headstocks are probably my favourite. And yes I realise that's a 480 headstock not a 4003/1 headstock
Sanded and buffed the neck Frets have been leveled and frets and entire fretboard polished with steel wool and mineral oil. damn thats one kinky guitar, what pickups are you using?
Some random unnamed ones. Comes in this pre-wired pickgaurd. From the reviews I've read, despite being very cheap, they are actually decent pickups. I'll probably change them out at some point. As I said earlier, I'm going to re-wire it so the pickups play in series, which will make the mid positions sound more like humbuckers.
This guitar looks amazing, a non stock head would have been cool but it's your guitar.
I want that neck. Now.
Is the neck really fast?
Is the neck really fast?
From what I've seen, it's pretty fat. But IMO saying a neck is fast is bullshit. I can play as fast on my Epiphone as on my Ibanez, despite the pretty big neck different.

That was supposed to be fat, not fast. :buddy:
The neck is fat. That being said, it's not like you can't play fast on it, but it's a bit bulkier.
Yay. I love me chunky necks :buddy:
At long last, an update. Wiring is done, and I'll be setting up the guitar soon. it does play now, but I've only got 5 old strings on it. It plays well, the neck is comfortable, it's buzz-free, and the action is pretty low. Sounds like a classic strat. I'll need to buy a lighter gauge of strings, because the kahler gets over-extended with these .13s. I'll also have to dick around with intonation tomorrow, and I need to find some tiny screws so I can mount the locking nut behind the headnut. Looks great! You need a logo for your headstocks now.
The only thing that bugs me is the headstock, it looks quite massive.
I agree with TheGuru. The headstock looks naked without a logo.
Help me think of a trademark name :v:.
engrave the FP logo on the headstock.
The only thing that bugs me is the headstock, it looks quite massive.
It's the perspective of the picture It's not exactly like the strat headstock, but it's the same size. (ignore those loose strings) [editline]03:33AM[/editline]
engrave the FP logo on the headstock.
haha, no. :colbert: I need a catchy name or abbreviation.
The word Hypno, with a picture of Hypnotoad to the left of it. I don't know.
Just use your real last name in a script font. Unless you have a bad last name for this kind of thing :v:
There's already a guitar company using my last name :saddowns:
Nice contrast with the wood and the black pickguard. I noticed the Low E bends a bit at the headstock though, alignment issue perhaps?
Make a logo from the initials of your name, so if you're name was John Smith make like a scribed version of J.S in a logo form or something, i don't know. Failing that, Hypnotoad. Guitar looks fucking great man.
Nice contrast with the wood and the black pickguard. I noticed the Low E bends a bit at the headstock though, alignment issue perhaps?
Probably. I base the tuner positions on distances from each other, so alignment isn't always perfect. All of the strings are leaning a bit to the left. Doesn't really matter though, the low E never slips from the headnut. There's going to be a locknut soon, so slipping won't ever be an issue.

for a name for the headstock you could call it H T Guitars or somthing but in a really fancy font
for a name for the headstock you could call it H T Guitars or somthing but in a really fancy font
best idea yet. At any rate, I think it's too late for that now. I may do that on later guitars.
Put a picture of Hypno-toad on them
I believe 20th century fox would have copyright ownership of that. They'd force Google to mute the guitar. I'm making some of these to sell, you know (not this one, though, it's for me )
