Hypno I have to say that is a damn sexy guitar. Good work, man, wish I could do something like that.
Everybody stop arguing or I'll make a telecaster. Whatever it is, it'll have a flame walnut top and osage orange neck. I'll leave the top contour-free so I can do some white binding (the fretboard will be bound, too). If you're a whizz at photoshop or something like that, you could propose some body &/or headstock shapes and I might do them. I won't be starting another project for at least 2-3 weeks, so if you have something in mind, do it before then. (preferably sooner than later) I'm not looking for thinking-out-of-the-box weirdo shapes, I want something nice. it can be different, but it has to be sexy. I'm in the mood for a high output H/H guitar. Also, I thought of a "brand" name for my stuff. "A1 guitars"
Is pine good for a guitar body?
I don't like it, but I think it works.. OP what do you with guitars when you complete them? Sell them or keep them?
Explorer with Flying V headstock :buddy:
I don't like it, but I think it works.. OP what do you with guitars when you complete them? Sell them or keep them?
I'm selling this one in a few days. [editline]08:44AM[/editline]
Explorer with Flying V headstock :buddy:
Flying V is more of a guitar for painting, my next few guitars are all going to be made of walnut.
I said Flying V headstock. I would just say Explorer, but I'm not too fond of the hockey stick headstock.
Same kind of deal with explorer. I don't like those things in natural. ttytt I like the flying V better than the explorer anyways.
You should make a metal Telecaster. :v: Tremolo, Humbuckers, the whole metal thing. On a Telecaster.
You should make a whole bunch and then open a shop :v:
An HH telecaster would be neat. I'm interested in seeing some concepts though. seems people are content trying to give me ideas and concepts while I'm actually doing a project, but now's a better time :geno:
I really wanna see you do a V, or just something other than a strat 22fret 1978 gibson explorer
He said he's not doing a Flying V or an Explorer. Maybe a superstrat with a Jackson Headstock. Floyd, HH and everything
but he's done so many strats already... :(
BC Rich Warlock :downs: I dunno, I'll look up a few. [editline]06:23PM[/editline] A Thunderbird or Les Paul might be cool.
Everybody stop arguing or I'll make a telecaster.
Keep arguing guys :v:
+1 for les paul
No Les Pauls this time. I'm doing binding, and I don't have a top-mounted router. So binding would be impossible with a curved top. Also, I've got standard-sized neck blanks, nothing with a big heel. If I'm going to make an LP, I want to do it properly. I want to in the future, but not now. Just to lay down the rules, no V's, Explorers, or anything with a curved top. I've got some very nice walnut for this, and I want something curvy with cutaways.

Alternatively, double cut:
See, that's a good suggestion.
See, that's a good suggestion.
Thanks. I thought it'd be a good project because it's a simplistic body design; very minimalist. You could easily swap out the P90 pickup for something more suited to your tastes, and the simple body shape lends itself well to modifications.
Do a maxed out double cut les paul, that, i would love to see!

I'd probably be doing H/H
do an S/S like: No, the top isn't curved / arched. Les Paul Special.
Iceman!
I don't really consider P90s to be S. They are too loud, too fat, and just have to much midrange (I mean that in a good way) I was thinking about P90's. I'm looking at Lindy Fralin, and they let you specify the % you want it overwound or under-wound. Would let me get an overwound bridge pickup. That'd sound insane. [editline]02:21AM[/editline] I was also thinking of a dogear P90 Telecaster, sort of like this one, but with white binding on the body and neck
I'm not a fan of teles, but your wood. I just think a Les Paul Special would be nicer.
Yeah, that's the other plan. I'll see when I actually have the money to start ordering parts.
Do a unique shape. Nothing crazy, just put your own spin on an already existing design.
TBH pre-existing designs generally look their optimum already. It's not that I want originality, I want something that looks good If it's original while it looks good, all the better.
I'm gonna have to say Les Paul too.
