The SG is boring to me. Go with the Les Paul

666th Post!
I say do a curved top SG, those are sexy as hell!
Just imagine; Beautiful, cherry finished wood that gleam in the light because of the curved body, all binded together with cream bindings...:3:
Can you make a guitar out of ebony? :raise:
You could but the wood alone would cost about $500
I saw neck blank sized slabs of Madagascar ebony, and the tag said $76, and I pondered making a solid ebony neck. But then I looked closer at the tag, and it said $76 PER FOOT. I was like :saddowns:
WOuldn't that be heavy as lead?

Jeez, you weren't kidding

If I did that, it woudn't have the contours on the sides, though. White binding instead.

Probably slightly less but not far off.

That's the first SG I've seen that I think looks even remotely nice. Just something about the shape I can't like.
I love SG's, and that archtop version is even better.
It lacks two potmeters though.
If you do a Les Paul, please give it a Florentine cutaway.
Hey dude, can you PM me the links to your other threads?
I love to keep in touch with all the luthiers I meet.
Dude, do a non-slab telecaster!
make a double neck :colbert:
