Andrew seems like an ass. He says that if something displease the readers he'll do more of it to piss them off.
I really don't like the style at all.
It's too detailed, too precise. It makes the characters much harder to empathise with.
Hopefully he won't read this so I won't be directly contributing to its persistence.
But it seems like he dropped it on the last update anyway, so I'm cool with that.

I think his intent is just to remind people that it's his project, which is perfectly understandable, and get people to fuck off if they don't like it, which is equally so.
I mean, I'm all for critiquing shit, but I think you think he's aiming for people like Turnips directly above. He's not, he's aiming for the special morons on his own forums and the HOMOSUCK IS SHIT crowd.

I'm okay with it being too detailed. My problem with it is that it's too far removed from the MSPaint style he's had going the whole comic. It looks like something he drew with a pencil on paper.
I honestly believe it looks absolutely horrid, just random shading, and over shading of wrinkles on the previous stylized picture make it look like it's being drawn by someone who is bad at drawing people. He can do better than this, it just makes Rose look horrifying, rat like and the fact that he kept the proportions of the non hero-mode characters looks completely off.
I mean for Christ's sake, she's thirteen, not forty.
Rate agree if you like the new art style.
Rate disagree if you do not.

Working the pixel sprites into the fold obviously came on the heels of the interactive RPG page. That page served all the obvious purposes is was meant to, but as a bonus, introduced another style I can resort to now and then, even in static pages. Hence the transition from one to the other, and now back and forth and dancing in between through subsequent pages. It's sort of a study of two extremes now in the arsenal as I move forward. The older styles between them will surely be more common moving forward, but this juxtaposition is a statement meant to get you conscious of the style decisions, and the overall stylistic nature of this story.
And that nature is, slowly but surely, revealing to us that it can be anything, at any time. Its nature is to accumulate visual complexity/diversity to eventually match conceptual complexity/diversity.[/quote]

I just saw some of the new updates, Rose doesn't look as terrible in the latest one as she did before.
I feel like the only one who loves the new style, it's nice to have some variety.

She looks really good in this one. I feel like I'm going to love this style.
Also, :3: at the update. I love how Nepeta wants to talk to Rose's cat, and that panel with Rose and Jaspersprite.
Now that's much better, I much prefer the old style, but if he keeps improving this one, I'll get used to it.
Are you guys sure this change is permanent? It sounds to me like Andrew is just trying something different for a while to keep it unrepetitive.
He said that he's going to use it later on too. It's going to be another style like normal sprite mode, scribble mode, hero mode, and the new Earthbound sprite mode.
As long as he uses it sparsly I'll be okay with it.
Whatever keeps him updating.
