Vriska could die facing Jack, but I predict that someone is going to make a sacrifice to save her. Maybe Tavros, maybe Kanaya, or even Eridan, possibly even John upon arrival from the scratch. Someone is going to die though.

I think that the windy thing is what occurred when the salamander village fire was put out.
I predict that Vriska and one other troll will die before this is over. I don't know who the other troll is but I'm mostly sure it will be Terezi.

This is not how it works. I am not sure if Vriska is not getting it herself, or she's just using it to fool John.
If you don't want to get knee deep into infinite amount of universes and parallel timelines, you must limit yourself on one timeline. The actual timeline is not "doomed", until somebody or something from it decides that it is, and travels to before the point of getting there. Vriska can't know if she's saving or creating a doomed timeline. She can't even know if she isn't in one herself, or isn't going to drive herself into one.
There always is infinite number of timelines, and the "doomed" ones just mark these which we don't follow at all, or leave at one point.
She might be as well be dooming the timeline by doing this, too.
My, so pessimistic. Can't we have a happy end?
