Ok, screw the bucket shenanigans.
What body part do you think troll racketeers/mafia would use in scare tactics?

so guys, I have this theory about John and the whole universe making thing. It has spoilers from the Keys to the Kingdom series, so if you're reading that series, don't click on the spoiler.
[sp]in the series, it follows a boy, named Arthur, who is thrust into another universe to be an heir of a kingdom, but first he must obtain the "keys", which gives him power, from the seven morrow days (Monday, tuesday, etc.). He also must fulfill a "will" from the original Architect of the universes. Towards the end of the series, he gains all of the keys and fulfills the will. However, the will was for all of the universe to be destroyed and to be brought back into "Nothing" (a substance like antimatter, which destroys anything it comes into contact with). When the entire universes were turned into Nothing, only Arthur was left, protected by the powers of the 7 keys. In the Nothing, he has a talk with the Architect. The reason she wanted the universes to be destroyed is because after billions of years, she was tired of the universes she made, and wanted to go back into Nothing. However, at one point in making the universes, she made another being called "The Old One" to speed up the process in making the universes. But she and him argued, and she chained him, making the bonds eternal, until her universe was destroyed. So she had to destroy the entire universe to allow her to go back to Nothing. Then, a new universe is made, and that is where Arthur comes in. He becomes the new Architect, and is about to make a new universe, when the part of him that was Arthur convinced him otherwise, and remade the old universe right before it was destroyed. After he remade it, he took that part of himself and returned it to the universe as regular Arthur.
What my theory is is that maybe John will attempt to remake his old universe. And with the new revelation that SBURB gives you an entire universe as the prize, I am able to further this explanation. Since the kids will essentially become gods in their universe, they are able to control everything, including whether or not they want their old universe back, before they found out about SBURB. Also, there are some points in homestuck where John wishes he was back in his universe.[/sp]

The kids don't control how the universe turns out, they also can't go back to their old one.
The kids don't control how the universe turns out, they also can't go back to their old one.
They aren't going back to their old one, they're remaking their old one using the new one.
Also, i thought they could control how the universe is made
Apparently they can't control it, according to uh... I think Andrew said it. Or it was in the comics as dialog. I can't remember.

No the don't control what happens but there is a theory that the new universe is based on the people who one sburb but not directly.
Update. Rose had a lot of time on her hands.
"Suddenly I don't understand anything"
[editline]09:33PM[/editline]
So now they must damage the game. huh.
Seems pretty depressing that Rose says that they have no chance of winning.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
What?
So they have no chance at winning, so they need to rip the game apart and break the rules? What good will that do?

But that's why John is the leader. :buddy:

To destroy Lord English?
Now it makes sense.
Man, I'm gonna be disappointed if Andrew decides to ends this series on a sour note.
I mean, at this point I have no real clue on how its supposed to end on a GOOD note, but I just hope it isn't too bitter of an ending.

He probably won't do that due to the fact that it would piss of ALL of his fanbase.
[editline]10:00PM[/editline]
Do you guys think that Rose acting wird is being caused by the merger of her and her future dream self?
I'm sure there will be a happy, or at the very least a bittersweet ending.
John and Rose's conversation in a nutshell:
"You're stupid an naive, that makes you a good leader. Now let's change our objective all together."
And she says all this AS IF to say "You're dumb and naive, we don't want you to be leader, but you have to anyway."
And the way Rose doesn't emote at all and just shoots down everything John says makes me, the reader, feel incredibly stupid. As if we were supposed to know this whole universe thing the whole fucking time as Rose magically did.
I now really dislike Rose.

She had the knowledge from her future dream self, she's also been searching for information for the past while and don't forget she's the smartest of the bunch. So ya don't feel dumb.

They rip up space to meet the trolls, and rip up time and space to destroy Lord English.
I have a feeling some of these characters are going to die before the end, and permanently, because you can't have 24 main characters and them all live.
I still consider the trolls minor characters.

Its a common story element: all the cards are turned against the heroes, and they succeed even through their doubts.
Right now, we perceive Rose as sort of a sentient knowledge, if that makes any sense. She's got the mind and experience of Future Rose, so we accept what she says as truth and wisdom, which will make their eventual success ever the sweeter.
I still consider the trolls minor characters.
I did until they became actually important. Any character that the audience has yet to control is a minor character.
I still consider the trolls minor characters.
I still consider Jade a minor character. With a cast this big, who is minor or not is going to be hugely subjective.
I now really dislike Rose.
Felt like business as usual to me.
I have a feeling some of these characters are going to die before the end, and permanently, because you can't have 24 main characters and them all live.
I think it's safe to say the original four will either survive together or die together, because they're a pretty classic complementary five man band. John's the hero, Dave's the lancer, Jade is the chick, and Rose takes care of the smart one and big one slots by being the genius bruiser. Taking one out of commission would destroy the group, it'd be a sad as hell ending regardless of what happened after.
Now, the guardians are practically made for self-sacrifice, the exiles and wholly secondary characters, and the trolls are too broad a group to definitively call one way or the other, but I'd still wager Hussie wants to pull a happier ending from this one.
At worst you'd probably just see the guardians go down, and maybe a couple trolls like Eridan or Equius.
