If dexter wasn't in it i wouldn't give a shit a bout this movie
I still don't give a shit about it.
Looks like a pretty good popcorn flick but nothing more.
Would suck ass if your player lagged out and you were stuck their mid-pose.
I remember some russian movie like this...
I wonder if griefing exists in this world.
Making the inmates have gay sex with each other etc
I'm so confused, I don't know if it's either gimmicky or absolutely awesome.
It was fine until I saw that bitch of a rapper in there.
So, I'm a bit confused about the arsenal in this "game", is everyone armed with only kevlar and a g36c? Thats a pretty suckish arsenal.
god i hope they have a chance to change that name
god i hope they have a chance to change that name
Agreed, too gimmicky.
Lol you guys complain about a name of a movie.

Reminds me of those hacker movies... don't get me started on them...
wow looks realy good cant wait to watch it
Looks decent. But atleast the theme is awesome :)
Prison inmates play a lethal competition for the public to enjoy and one of the someone's almost won enough to earn their freedom? Can anybody say Death Race?
Sounds a litlle like manhack arcade
Title made me think Mover - The Game

Teabagging.
You thought death race was bad? Oh well if you mean the name, fuck yeah. But the movie wasn't THAT bad. I mean it was full of badasses and that one chick who I wish would take her top off
I watched it because it reminded me of my favorite PS1 game but it really was that bad, and this will be at least twice as bad.
Looks good.
Oh what's next? Internet Forums movie?
The finishing line where he totally owns everything should be
"Dude, you just lost the game"
I would find that pretty funny
But you'll probably all go bandwagon effect on me and say NO...
It's like .hack but real
I haven't watched the trailer.
Why the fuck is everybody armed with G36C's?
Why the fuck is it a popular game if it looks so... dumb? Why would anybody play it?
What do you do when your character dies? You respawn as a new inmate? Do you have to go and choose one, or is it randomly selected?
I have mixed feelings about this.
Im sorry i bumped this. Just watched the movie and i can tell ya it's a fucking epic movie.
Also didn't want to create a new topic cuz theres one.
This movie was abysmal beyond belief.
Gerad Butler should feel ashamed that he took part in this pile of shit.
I know a lot of people don't like this movie. Why I can't understand. Perhaps if they watched the whole film they would begin to get it. Gamer burns an image of humanities values, trends, and weaknesses as we move inevitably forward in this technological revolution.
I think we all know (and hope) mind control or anything of the like of this is far off into our future. The movie isn't trying to make you believe this could happen but painting the images of how we are as a society using the technology we have and how our emerging disconnect from reality is altering our moral compasses.
Gamer has plenty of action and effects to satisfy the action enthusiast while adding a touch of the oddity and creativeness of a cult classic. You don't have to be a hard core gamer get the satire but if you have played a few games online or own an Xbox360 you will either be able to identify directly or at least associate the scenarios with someone you've played with before.
My wife and I are GenX-Y so we're comfortable with the concepts and I think we might have been the target audience for this movie. The plot is no more complicated then your standard "Running Man" or "Death Race" but where it hit us was in the imagery. Days later after we saw the film we were still talking about it elaborating with our own revelations on society and in some ways creeped out about the concepts. If a movie can do that I think you got your money's worth. All in all I recommend this movie to anyone. Keep your kids at home there is a little nudity but the situations they are in will make them seem more graphic.
