I just heard about 'liquid drum and bass'. Could anyone give me an example because I have no clue what it sounds like?
Kind of hard to describe when you ask about it, I imagine we all have different ideas
I just count liquid as smooth, atmospheric, kind of easy listening D&B, doesn't neccesarily have to be upbeat but a lot of it is. I'm sure there's someone here he could explain the technical aspects.
There is a lot of variation within the genre though, could be something like this:

It's what is mostly posted in this thread tbh, that and tech/neuro. Lukeo summed it up fairly well.
A lot of artists have just turned to making samey boring liquid, because it's the drum and bass most people seem to like, so it just must seem easier (not necessarily to produce) but I do enjoy good liquid.

Netsky never went shit imo. He went mainstream yeah but that does not equal shit, I loved his new album.
Netsky is accessible to plenty of people, which paves the way for more interest in the genre, more popularity for the artists and the encouragement of new artists. Only problem is that popularity/money can taint (bit of a harsh word but you know what I mean) some people. Like I said before I hope the artists retain their unique sound, but if not there's always artists on the rise who have something new to offer. Just hope it's not more cheesy jump up. :v:

I understand mainstream doesn't equal shit, but because of going mainstream his music has taken a commercial turn and now it just sounds like all the others.
4 am and I just got in, wish I had been clubbing to some D&B as opposed to all the pop shit that plays in the local clubs.
Bliss to get home though and put on some good tunes, wish there was a proper version of The Burbs - Organic I could post here but if you own Sick Music it's on there, one of the most relaxing tunes on there. Next to Cyantific and Seba of course.
