I'm not religious, but am open-minded to all religions. This quote from the Bible gave off a creepy feeling. "20:10-17 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. . . . " No intention of offending anyone.
Wait, is that REALLY from the Bible? The latter part sounds more like an excerpt from the How to Pillage a City for Simpletons by Erik "Red" Fjordensorf. (I am not good with Scandinavian namings)
The Tale of the Sawney Beanes
Living in Scotland, my dad alays told me if I didn't do as I was told Sawney Beane would come and get me. :ohdear:
So they mean utterly nothing.
Yes, exactly.
Indeed. The case of the Sawney Beane clan of cannibals was also unsettling. Did that actually happen or was it just a tale?
As all legends do it has a little fact in it. Apparently back then groups of robbers lived in that part of Scotland and robbed travellers often and some used caves as hideouts at times I think. There is also a story that one of the Beans had a baby granddaughter who was with the family at the time of the arrest. The authorities did not decide to kill the baby and sent it to a foster home and apparently it grew up into a girl that pricked the fingers of her siblings and sucked out the blood. They decided to execute her at the age of 18 because she was seen as a cannibal.
I never personally read the bible, but I'm going to assume that passage everyone's going "what the fuck" over is from the old testament....which as far as I know was fucked up

There are a few different versions of that one, seems that this one is from 2001 though. There was a hunter in the woods, who, after a long day hunting, was in the middle of an immense forest. It was getting dark, and having lost his bearings, he decided to head in one direction until he was clear of the increasingly oppressive foliage. After what seemed like hours, he came across a cabin in a small clearing. Realizing how dark it had grown, he decided to see if he could stay there for the night. He approached, and found the door ajar. Nobody was inside. The hunter flopped down on the single bed, deciding to explain himself to the owner in the morning. As he looked around the inside of the cabin, he was surprised to see the walls adorned by several portraits, all painted in incredibl detail. Without exception, they appeared to be staring down at him, their features twisted into looks of hatred and malice. Staring back, he grew increasingly uncomfortable. Making a concerted effort to ignore the many hateful faces, he turned to face the wall, and exhausted, he fell into a restless sleep. The next morning, the hunter awoke -- he turned, blinking in unexpected sunlight. Looking up, he discovered that the cabin had no portraits, only windows.

Tonight, at midnight, I will be doing this. I'll be back once I'm finished.
“The Midnight Game” is an old pagan ritual used mainly as punishment for those who have broken the laws of the pagan religion in question. While it is mainly used as a scare tactic to not disobey the gods, there is still a very real chance of death to those who play the Midnight Game and there is an even higher chance of permanent mental scarring. It is highly recommended that you DO NOT PLAY THE MIDNIGHT GAME. For those few thrill seekers searching for a rush or for those delving into obscure occult rituals, these are the simple instructions on how to play. Do so at your own risk. INSTRUCTIONS PREREQUISITES: It must be exactly 12:00 AM when you begin performing the ritual, otherwise it will not work. The materials that are required include a candle, a wooden door, at least one drop of your own blood, a piece of paper, matches or a lighter, and salt. If you are playing with multiple people, they will all need their own of the aforementioned materials and will have to perform the steps below separately. STEP ONE: Write your full name (first, middle, and last) on a piece of paper and put at least one drop of blood on the paper. Allow it to soak in. STEP TWO: Turn off all the lights in the house. Go to your front door, which must be wooden, and place the paper with your name in front of it. Now, take the candle and light it. Place the candle on top of the paper with your name. STEP THREE: Knock on your own door 22 times (The hour MUST be 12:00 AM upon the final knock), then open the door, blow out the candle, and close the door. You have just allowed the “Midnight Man” into your home. STEP FOUR: Immediately relight your candle. This is where the game begins. You must now lurk around your now completely dark house with the lit candle in hand. Your goal is to avoid the Midnight Man at all costs until exactly 3:33 AM. Should your candle ever go out, it is because the Midnight Man is near you. You must relight the candle within the next ten seconds. If you are unsuccessful in relighting the candle, you must then immediately surround yourself with a circle of salt. If you are unsuccessful in both of these, the Midnight Man will then induce a hallucination of your greatest fear until 3:33 AM. If you are successful in relighting the candle, then you may proceed. If you are successful in creating the circle of salt, you must remain within the circle until 3:33 AM. You must continue until 3:33 AM without being attacked by the Midnight Man or being trapped within the circle of salt to win the Midnight Game. The Midnight Man will then leave at 3:33 AM and you will be safe to proceed with your morning. Staying in one spot the entire game will only result in the Midnight Man finding you. It is HIGHLY advised that you continue moving throughout the game. DO NOT turn on any lights during the Midnight Game. DO NOT use a flashlight during the Midnight Game. DO NOT go to sleep during the Midnight Game. DO NOT use another person’s blood on your name. DO NOT use a lighter to substitute for a candle. It will not work. AND DEFINITELY DO NOT attempt to provoke the Midnight Man in ANY WAY. That is all. Have fun.
Edit: Whoops, got sent back a few pages. Was going to reply to a post, but it's pointless now. Who the hell would call a world similar to what we have now, a fantasy world anyway?
Tonight, at midnight, I will be doing this. I'll be back once I'm finished.
Wait, you have to wait in the circle of salt until 3:33 AM, but you can't be trapped in it? What?
