lolwut? Rather anticlimatic...feels like I just lost a couple minutes of my life that I'll never get back, lol.
It's only PART 1, most of the creepy shit will happen in part 2, but it was getting long and out of hand and this stuff is mainly of the top of my head.
It could be the wood in your bookcase contracting or expanding due to heat, this is what causes scary tapping noises around the house.

rate me informative
Well for example, it wouldn't contract when it's 70 and expand at 69.9. So I don't think it would happen as much as it did, it was very regular. 3 taps, 3 seconds of silence, 3 taps, 3 seconds of silence and onwards.
[editline]04:24PM[/editline]
Also, I doubt it's termites. I've had termite problems before. They didn't make any sounds. It's a bitch to treat for termites though, luckily we didn't have to tent the entire goddamned house.
I found this on Instructables.

You should do it. There's not much on this thread that freaks me out, but the Paul is Dead conspiracy really fucks with me. I can't listen to Revolution 9 backwards anymore, it's just too scary. Have you seen all of the album/song clues to his death?

Yeah, I'm a shitty typist.
I had an idea for a DOOM (VideoGame not a DOOM scenario) Creepypasta, It could still be creepy, but DOOM is already bloody gory and filled with demons so I'll have to make it supernatural, fourth wall breaking, and highly unlikely to make it scary.

Sort of ruining my experience.
Though I suppose it's my fault for reading this shit in the first place.
Edit:
It's the same shit that The Ring did, making me all scared of white noise on the TV and VHS tapes with no label. Even though you know it's fake, there's always, always gonna be that niggling "what if" thought deep in the back of your head, haunting you every single day.
I was scared of even old style tv's for ages man. Fuck I hated that film for that shit. It was really good but holy shit it was so damn twisted and messed up, screwed with me. You're actually scared of that? Hah! I listened to the whole thing and, besides for the one part where my soul was absorbed by the smiling abomination in the video, I wasn't affected one bit.
Here's one I just found on /x/.
Hey, /x/. I probably don't have much time. Here's a very shortened summary on the whole situation that I got myself into a few weeks ago.
Being /x/philes, my friends and I are into urban exploration – abandoned buildings, unused subway tunnels, the like. We've pretty much been all across Ohio, checking out the decaying remnants of schools and other buildings. Basically, we've seen it all. Having nothing to do, one of my friends proposed that we went to an old nonfunctional factory outside of town. We all agreed, and discussed our plans.
I decided to pack a flashlight, my pocket knife, a crowbar, and some power bars. My three friends (Darren, Jack and Sam) and I got in my car and started our trip. The factory, about 40 minutes away, was supposedly a sweatshop back in the 1880's that got shut down suddenly after a huge fire engulfed it, killing the majority of its workers. Most of its employees were children and teens who had to work in order to win the bread in the family. The sweatshop supposedly made clothes.
We finally arrived there at around 8:00, later than we expected, and the sun was about to set sometime soon. From the outside, the factory looked pretty nice for having been in a fire. It was rusty and torn, but I expected worse from the description of the disaster. Being the idiot he is, Darren forgot the fucking camera. We kept exploring, looking in the various rooms.
It was hard to find anything intact, it looked like most of it was ruined by the fire. Pretty much everything was charred or ripped in some way, and hardly anything was in one piece. Sam came across a room whose door was nailed shut. We decided to leave well enough alone – wouldn't want to vandalize it, we could get in some pretty deep shit for that – and looked on.
We grew so fascinated with the place that we lost track of time. Studying rubble, observing the damage – we were completely immersed in this place. Finally, I looked outside of what was either a window or a hole ripped in the wall from the fire, and saw that it was dark out. I looked at my watch. It was fucking 10:46.
“Guys, it's almost 11! We've been here for fucking 3 hours, didn't anyone notice? We better haul our asses home.” I said.
“Wait, shut up for a second. Can you hear that?” Sam exclaimed, turning his eyes to the side and holding his ears back.
Five seconds of silence.
“Come on, Sam, there's nothing there. We really need to leave, n-”
We heard a strange noise, a cry almost. It grew louder and louder, and we realized that it wasn't just one voice. There were at least 5, and they were coming from a nearby room. It was unmistakeable. It was the sounds of humans screaming, there's no way it was a group of owls or other animals. We were all scared shitless, and darted back to the car like fucking ninjas. We disregarded the speed limit and drove as fast as we could back to my house. Even when there were miles between the car and the house, we were panicking until the car pulled into the driveway. I sighed in relief.
“I don't fucking know, man.”
After 10 minutes of arguing and panic, we decided to drop it and watch a movie before getting some sleep. It seemed like the best choice, we could always check it out again the next day.
The following morning, we pretty much avoided the obvious topic. We tried to ignore what happened, until Jack broke the ice and proposed that we return.
“There is no fucking way you're going to drag me back to that place.” Darren said, though we later convinced him after he had a couple drinks.
We decided that it was the only thing that would put our minds at ease, and planned to return around the same time we heard the noises. We took off at 9:00. All of us were afraid, but nobody wanted to look like a pussy and complain. After arriving at around 10, we looked around. Everything looked the same. After deciding to split up into 2 groups (Sam and I, Darren and Jack), we explored, listening for the noise again.
Everything looked the same as it did the previous night. We searched the room, nervous that we might find something that we'd rather be oblivious of. At 10:46, the noise started again. Our bodies stiffened, and we were paralyzed with fear. The noise grew louder and louder. And that's when Jack ran up to me, his face pale as paper and dread in his eyes. He was catching his breath, hands on knees, leaning forward.
“FUCK – Darren, he... He's fucking gone” Jack said, in between pants.
“Gone? What the hell do you mean 'gone'?!” I asked, still terrified of the screaming. We had to find Darren and get the fuck out of the place.
Jack, Sam and I ran towards the room near the nailed-shut door. I could hear the screams, coming directly from the room. I grabbed my crowbar and ripped the nail out like the goddamn hulk. The room was pitch black. And wouldn't you know it, my flashlight fucking died on me.
I hastily rummaged my bag for emergency candles, and found one.
“I'll go.” said Jack. Nobody really wanted to protest.
I gave him the candle, and Sam pulled out his matchbook and lit it. After taking the candle, Jack went into the room, as scared as the rest of us.
He slowly entered the room. The screaming was fucking loud.
We were all about to bail on him. And that's wh
Yep, it ends there.
