MC?
You mean Tyler. The main character is called Tyler.
You are right, but I did it this way to keep from spoiling anything. Ed Norton's character is not named through about 95% of the movie.
And really? That's all you gotta say about what I wrote? You, sir, are a fountain of critical thinking. Bra-fucking-vo.
If you pay attention, [sp]on the payphone after his condo blows up, it says "No incoming calls".[/sp]
Guys, garry doesnt have enough spoiler bars for this thread.
Disagree as much as you wish, it doesn't change the fact that Fight club is only popular because the vast majority of 12-year olds consider excessive, unnecessary violence and a lack of story to be good entertainment.
Before the movie it was mostly associated with a best selling book which was most definetely not most read by 12-year olds who consider excessive, unnecessary violence and a lack of story to be good entertainment
Hate pseudo-intelligent teen fans all you like, not the product.

Thinks fight club is about fighting.

You shouldn't need to spoiler tag like 5 pages in. Seriously, who the hell is gonna read five pages and have not seen the movie?
Fight Club is a legendary movie!
Fight Club is a legendary movie!
yes it is
I loved the end song where is my mind by the pixies. Great band they where the inspiration for nirvana
[sp]The part with the cops/detectives being part of project mayhem blew my mind.[/sp]
I liked the movie a lot. Great performances. But for me, the book will always be greater. Was spell-binding, personally.
Loved this movie. Gets me pumped up

[sp] well in the bathroom with the politician Tyler states: We do your laundry, cook your food and serve you dinner. We guard you while you sleep. We drive your ambulances. Do not fuck with us. from this you can probably expect that there are members of high authority[/sp]
This is an interesting page. Read it.

I've read this before. Definitely intriguing.
Or maybe you just have a different opinion than others and try to rationalize it by saying people who like it are children. It's one of the best movies ever made if you consider the score on IMDb. It's in 16th place on their top 250 list.
http://www.imdb.com/chart/top
I'm not saying I disagree, but a movie is not the best ever made just because it says so on imdb (or any other website).
I actually saw the plot twist from a mile away, or at least it didn't surprise me.
But and the end I just wanted to clap, great fucking movie.
Was a intresting movie, by no means the best movie in the world.
But I'm sick of teenagers watching it and going "lawl fightclub i'm so cool." Believe it or not some students in the same school as me started their own fight club after seeing the movie, which the movie was truly never about that.
The dick was funny. Dicks always make me laugh.
[sp]I was confused when Norton shot himself, I watched the whole thing and then I realized what the fuck was going on[/sp]
For an explanation of the ending, [sp]since the Narrator has had no free will throughout the course of the story (a go-nowhere job, living in an apartment full of IKEA products, raised by women to be a feminine man), he developed Tyler to free himself, but he then becomes a slave to Tyler instead (forced into Project Mayhem and completely lapsing into a split personality). So, as foreshadowed by Tyler constantly telling him to "let go" and not be afraid of rock bottom, the only way the Narrator could defeat Tyler was by exercising his free will without anyone getting in the way. He first tries and fails when learning about Project Mayhem's bombing operations, but then he succeeds in a decision that is truly his own: shooting/sacrificing himself to stop Tyler Durden. As a result of taking this bold move towards personal freedom, the Narrator has crushed any chance of Tyler Durden ever popping out again.[/sp]
Or, in short, [sp]the Narrator defeats Tyler Durden, who has taken the Narrator out of his controlled environment into another controlled environment, by freeing himself from control of both environments.[/sp]
Fight Club is arguably my favorite movie in terms of story, direction, art style, theme, and more. The book is also pretty good, but I've had repeat viewings of Fight Club. Even the author, Chuck Palahniuk, thinks the movie is an improvement over the original novel, but the novel does have its own strong points (especially in terms of stream-of-consciousness narration).
Anyone who says this is a mindless action flick has obviously never seen the movie: it's a black comedy-turned-thriller with deep themes about the emasculation/feminization of modern society. Do yourself a favor and really watch it, and you'll find it's one of the most amazing movies ever made (or at least just really, really good and pretty funny).
[sp]why is everyone using spoiler tags[/sp]

So, [sp]he got rid of Tyler by showing he had some balls?[/sp]
I've gotta admit, the ending confused me a tad, wasn't sure if it was just the shock of being shot in the jaw or somewhat. I guess that makes more sense though.

[sp]What if someone accidentally stumbles into the wrong thread, and the 2nd page of the wrong thread no less. What then?![/sp]
So, [sp]he got rid of Tyler by showing he had some balls?[/sp]
Yeah. That kind of sums it up. But seriously, [sp]even when he did follow Tyler, he was only following Tyler and not showing he had any balls himself. He took off the training wheel balls and grew the real thing in the end.[/sp] So, it's kind of like a coming-of-age maturation kind of thing.
I think even one of the actors stated something along the lines of how Fight Club touches on the idea how nihilism is cool when you're growing up, but impracticable when you become an adult.
I loved the small little things in this movie. My favourite:
[sp]When the Narrator is watching the TV before he's even met Tyler and you see a bunch of waiters on screen saying welcome. Look to the far right and Tylers there, haha. Awesome. [/sp]
Definitely not the greatest movie ever made but it's pretty good,I think most people grow out of Fight Club when they leave high school.
This movie is so great, it's important to human society.

Eh, there are quite a few Tyler flashes in the beginning of the film.

Much like some penis pictures that do the same.
