It's all good.
RJ102 deserves to be modded. :patriot:
No, I'm too much of a homosexual fag.
D'aww, don't be saying that.

TH89- Keeps racist discussions in line, bans racists on sight, strict. GunFox- Bans on sight on almost anything against the rules, strict and good at keeping things in order. RayvenQ- Nice guy, is pretty lenient on things but is also good at keeping things in order. verynicelady- Very active, always on the lookout for flamers and the likes, fixes up thread titles too most of the time instead of an instant ban, very friendly and fair mod. Rusty100- Bans strictly, can uphold a debate pretty well, always keeping things in order. MonkeyJoe- Pretty casual, is pretty much cool most of the time. Section Mods Roo-kie- Keeps the Video Games section in line, lenient and fair, helpful, good on discussions and pretty nice guy. Spork-Juct- The more stricter side of the Video Games section, bans on sight on things against the rules, pretty good on keeping discussions from resulting in a flame war, good active mod. Gurant- Pretty active mod, strict and lenient at times, and pretty friendly. Ventilated- Very strict mod, bans on sight most of the time, a bit too harsh at times but is still good at keeping things in order.
To help give people some perspective, I've evaluated the ban logs for 8\1 to see what the mods did that day, and my results are posted below.
As of 8\1 84 Temporary Bans Benji:14 o Flaming\Trolling:7 o Meme Shit: 2 o Why Reply:4 o Spoiler Misuse: 1 Dragon: 13 o Thread Title Issues: 4 o Image Macro: 2 o Trolling: 1 o 5 Second Shit: 1 o Warez: 3 o Spam: 1 o Unwarranted Bump:1 Guarant: 4 o Not a Question Thread: 2 o Unhelpful Reply:1 o Use the Search: 1 Jaanus: 4 o Asshole: 1 o Image Macro: 1 o Flaming: 1 o Awful Advice: 1 Monkeyjoe: 1 o Spam PLing: 1 o Improper Thread Type: 1 PacificV2: 3 o Why Reply\Image Macro:1 o Cliffhanger Title: 1 o Moderation Prediction: 1 RayvenQ: 3 o UTT: 1 o Crap Thread: 1 o Warez: 1 Silverhammer: 2 o Meme Reply: 1 o Flaming: 1 • Spork-Juct: 5 o Cliffhanger Title: 1 o Why Reply: 2 o Thread Shitting: 1 o Flaming: 1 LazyV: 1 o Help or Don't Reply: 1 mahalis: 11 o Why Reply: 3 o Flaming: 1 o Wrong Forum: 1 o UTT: 1 o Image Macro: 1 o Trolling: 1 o Meme Reply: 1 o Other: 2 Ventilated: 21 o Meme Related: 3 o Ban Reduction: 1 o Parody Thread: 1 o Wrong Section: 7 o Snipe: 1 o King of Page: 2 o Racism: 1 o Dumb Thread: 2 o Other: 3 verynicelady: 1 o Warez: 1 18 Permabans Dragon: 7 o Gimmick: 2 o Spammer\Creep\Tool: 3 o Bump: 1 o Personal Info: 1 Monkeyjoe: 1 o Spam PacificV2: 1 o Spam RayvenQ: 2 o Alt. of Banned User: 2 garry: 1 o Scam Spam: 1 ventilated: 6 o Spam: 4 o GMF: 1 o Alt. of Permabanned User: 1
From this information, Ventilated and Benji seem to ban the most people temporarily, with Dragon right behind Benji, while Dragon and Ventilated lead in permabans. Ventilated's bans concentrated on threads, whther they be in the wrong section or just shit threads in general. Benji's bans were more focused, concentrating on flaming and trolling and useless posts. Dragon seemed to be an all-around banner, both for thread issues and specific posts. As to try to relive some of the possible bias these numbers created, I'd like to remind some people that certain moderators only moderate certain sections, some of which are less active than others. Other moderators have abilities that span the entirety of the forums and can ban anywhere. GD and fast threads are most likely the top two most active ban sections. Disclaimer: This is only for one day. I'm in no mood to compile the stats over a month of forum activity to see the overall view of what happens. The numbers you see above are just a focused study of one day of bans, not counting all of the locked threads and behind-the-scenes stuff.
If I had the will I could try and make a script that scraped the event log for each mod and do stats.
I have 0 scripting skills whatsoever, so I did it the old fashioned way with notepad++ and some alphabetizing website.
A months statistics are a lot better than a day's, as some mods might not have even come on today. Getting a month's worth of Mod activity would put the bans into better perspective, though.
you realise this has absolutely no meaning?
:ssh: let him have his fun.
I only did a day because its too time consuming and tedious to do it by hand for a week or a month.
Britain and Canada and I think Australia spell it with a u after the o. So if you think you're being smart, you aren't.
rusty was right, "good poster," i was saying he used the wrong word entirely. He can spell it with a u. Keep up the good posting!
I'm happy with all the moderators in general, but I have a small nitpick about posting the Austin Powers picture after a news pun. I didn't even know this was a meme, is it just considered a facepunch meme? Either way, I think it's hilarious and only really feel people should be banned for it if it's overused. Sorry if this has already been discussed.
PLing has 15 event time divs and a total of 50 events.
It's a start...
Well recently I had a little experiment to see how the mod team handles homophobia. I direct you to two of my posts http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=16306722&postcount=672 The other the mods can view. I made a refugee camp thread that to my knowladge was unatended too. Hopefully I can get some answered here. What ticked me was that I was the only one banned in that thread simply because I was being racist against blacks and gays. The homophobic posts in that thread which I quoted in the post that got me banned were not "moderated" at all. Hezzy once said that we can report posts when I PMed him about this. The issue here is if a person is moderating a single thread shouldn't all offenses be judged and banned equally? I'd love it if one of the higher ranked mods addressed this. I just wanna know where you stand on this.

When someone says something like "nigger" it's bound to offend someone. When someone says "faggot" less people will get offended, if any at all. If you get offended, report the post. The post you linked to, you were using racial slurs in that post, and since no one reported the other post, while your post was reported.
It's good to know reports actually carry some weight. [editline]Edit:[/editline] Though, more than three report reasons would be a welcome improvement.
It doesn't really matter what reason you use, as long as the post is reported.

If you checked that thread out, it shouldn't matter who reported what posts. Just because less people report the word faggot when used in a derogatory sense like the guy in the post who said "only faggots play guitar hero" a moderator such as yourself should have seen that and banned him too. You can't say you didnt see his post because I quoted it in the post that got me banned. I'm looking for fair treatment of offensive language. Many people might not see saying "only fags play that" as offensive but that's the same as when in the 50's in the U.S. people didn't see segregation as a problem. It only hurts the people it affects most, people who are under the gun and degraded in those statements. In my opinion the mod team here needs to be as vigilant to that sort of trolling as racist trolls, at least when the offender of one is separated by one or two posts.
It doesn't really matter what reason you use, as long as the post is reported.
Fair enough.
Just to be clear I don't expect you to moderate every single post or see every single racist or homophobic remark. To ask that would be ridiculous. What aggravated me about this situation is that you took notice of the thread, and didn't react to the homophobia in the post I quoted, or the many other posts in that thread containing anti-gay slurs. If you chose to moderate a thread be sure to be fair about all posts in it (or at least recent posts), and not just jump on the quick gun of the one that was reported. There's a reason why people don't get banned through being reported many times. It's because moderators adhere and look for all rules to be respected, while many members could not give two shits about some of them and therefore never report many. [editline]08:41PM[/editline] broke my auto merge =\
It doesn't really matter what reason you use, as long as the post is reported.
Yeah, this is way more important. If it doesn't fall under warez or flaming/trolling just report it as spam. It'll show up for us in the reported posts.

http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=16461220 Good ban. That guy was a total douche, calling raids and flaming a "friend".

Ventilated made another dumbass move by banning DOG-GY for no apparent reason, because his post came after the OP's and the OP's post was removed due to being a phishing site in here: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=785630
Let's "hound dog" mods on every move they make, becuase they're suppose to be perfect people making perfect decisions with zero errors. ffff [editline]09:02PM[/editline] Then yell at them
