Because the only reason I've seen to dislike him is his disabling of HLSS and HLDJ in gmod, and outright refusal to re-enable it because some imaginary majority wants it gone. In spite of the fact that out of 3 pages of replies to a thread about it, only like 2 people actually liked it being gone.

This. That's my biggest complaint. I have nothing against specific moderators.
Also, we need the proper reporting system back. Choosing between those three is stupid. Either make a report button that reports or make a text box where you can enter why you think this post broke a rule.
And it would be interesting to have a list where you can see all the posts you reported and see if they got banned and how long and when and who banned them etc.
And it would be nice if threads like [URL=http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=778163]this[/url] could get locked for pure stupidity.

How can I do all that yet rarely visit my section?
I'm checking at least twice a day now.
I was gonna post that content control should play a bigger role so we don't see stupid 10 second threads clogging the forums because of people posting how shit the OP is but then I realized that this is not the mods task.
People are bumping, people get to see shit theads. That's it.
So the only complaint I have is that it sometimes takes ages for a mod to take action.
When people were bumping in GD a few days ago I had to go to the IRC to call a mod in and that was when the bumflood was in for a few hours already.
The only mods online were the section mods and they don't have that much power.
This might be due to the new report system, dunno, can't see it.
But then I realize: Whatever, one day of bumped threads in GD, we can take it.
Soooo my final point is that most supermods only moderate when they feel like it.
Back in the days the mods were super-nerds who browsed the forums the forums like 4 hours a day which resulted in a much cleaner forums overall.
Anyway, the forums are good when you look into the special sections.
Sections like GD, Fast Threads and News Node are mostly crap indeed but that is nothing new I suppose.
