Why do people slap the suffix "core" to everything and treat it like a separate genre?
i hope to god the parlor mob.
Why do people slap the suffix "core" to everything and treat it like a separate genre?
Yes. It's somewhat stupid. The genres need to be a bit more generalized, like metal being simply metal. Not black metal, death metal, metalcore, power metal, nu metal, etc. The amounts of different metal never ends, it simply needs to be called metal.
MGMT, Kanye West, Maroon 5, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Soulja Boy, Disturbed, Dave Matthews Band (Dispite being old)

I would definitely go with either Disturbed or Dragonforce.
Probably Dragonforce or some other shitty generic mainstream metal band.
Interpol have to be up there, hell even Maximo park. Just fot the fact that their the most badass live band ever.
Coldplay, f'sure.

I don't see any problem with the sub-genres; they're all different and have unique sounds. My argument was that attaching "core" to a genre doesn't make any sense.
Subgenres are needed, like if someone said to me that they listen to metal, then I might think in my head, Metallica or something, whereas they might actually listen to Pig Destroyer or something like that. It's not specific enough to just call it metal.
Kanye West
fuck no
Yes. It's somewhat stupid. The genres need to be a bit more generalized, like metal being simply metal.
Popular Emo Bands: Taking Back Sunday My Chemical Romance The Used And there are more genres like emocore and screamo Just Listen to "helena" by MCR, there it is a "true" emo song. Emo is punk rock/punk with extreme emotional lyrics like "now i'm dying because of you" and that kind of shits
Uhh no. Emo is like guitar-driven indie rock. You were right about the emotional lyrics though. And about it having roots in punk (it evolved from 80s hardcore originally). Stuff like this:
Because Metallica and Death sounds pretty much the same.
I don't think so. Metallica doesn't have growls, or technical death metal.
I don't think so. Metallica doesn't have growls, or technical death metal.
He was being sarcastic.
We should just call it all audio
Should be a electronic genre. [editline]09:11AM[/editline]
Coldplay, f'sure.
Probably.
The suffix "core" means that the genre have hardcore influences, like deathcore is Death metal with Hardcore.
Uh huh. Whatever you say.
The suffix "core" means that the genre have hardcore influences, like deathcore is Death metal with Hardcore.
I don't see how the fuck punk and metal can merge.
I don't see how the fuck punk and metal can merge.
Well you take bits of metal and bits of punk and glue it together
Yeah. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that. Both genres have defining characteristics. Put them together and you have a new genre.
Well you take bits of metal and bits of punk and glue it together
But isn't it going to sound shit?
But isn't it going to sound shit?
No one really cares what you think sounds like shit.
No one really cares what you think sounds like shit.
Did i say i thought it sounded like shit? No.
But isn't it going to sound shit?
Have you never listened to any core? Try it and see for yourself
Have you never listened to any core? Try it and see for yourself
Some of it's actually pretty good. But i still prefer The Dead Kennedy's.
