Has Kasabian been said?
80's was Sabbath, man. Regardless, we're probably going to be remembered by some african-american douchefag that has no talent and can play no instruments, but can use auto-tune.
The 00's will probably be remembered as the generation of Boy Bands and the beginning of Nerd Rock/Comedy Rock.
I'm hoping it'll be Muse or something like that.
No Ganja!

No.
Whoever it is, I probably won't be happy with it.
It'll be Arctic Monkeys, those guys have already been described as the next Beatles.
This doesn't mean I agree though, just what I've heard.
Muse is the only one I can think of that has a shot and actually deserves it.

The Arctic Monkeys are so fucking boring. This goes for all indie. Not quite as bad as Coldplay at least.

That's funny because I've never heard them on any radio station or knowingly ever heard anything in its entirety by them.

You've probably heard them on the radio dozens of times, they were just so uninteresting and uninspired you didn't care.

Or because I listen to morning talk radio with Mark and Brian.
I forgot the name of the other guy I listen to.
Edit: Rick Emerson.
Lady gaga?

I think we'd need someone that was actually a "musician" for the entire decade.
I've never even heard of any Arctic Monkeys.
Meshuggah, they created the "math metal" genre alone.

Well, I haven't heard that before.
The 00's is a sad time indeed, for all the loosers like slipknot (Why do they go on stage with masks?!) or linkin park(who just scream) or bullet for my valentine, all the "MainStream ""Metal"". These band are not metal, they are scremo(spelt it like that since they are emo. The real rock/metal genres are the 70's/80's Such as Iron Maiden(70's) Metallica(80's though theyre still around now) Slayer(80's) and others like Black Sabbath 70's Deep Purple (70's though not sure just from my head) Led Zeppelin (60's JUST) Well, I'd say I'v just said all I know about how older Heavy Metal is better than the new "metal" though probably the best modern bands from 00's are Disturbed, Rise against, Dragonforce(Dragonforce ARE good just that they use the whammy, harmoniser, other one i don't know, though they use it too much :D) Thanks for reading if you did >:D I'm in places doing things i shouldnt
Linkin Park don't scream.
They do in some of their older songs. But they don't just scream, far from it.
The thing is, there are good metal bands around now, that are around 10 years old and younger. They're just never well known, which is a huge shame.
But I do have to agree with you on the older metal/rock being better than newer music.
The big 4 of Thrash just do not get old. Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and Metallica)
Indeed.
I'm only gonna remember what I listen to, but maybe some of the more popular bands like Craptallica or Licking Park, Fagwish, anything related.
Amen to Meshuggah above. I'll never stop listening to them.
What I'm saying is, the newer-school stuff most people like, but people like me will never accept. Avant-garde is good though.

I agree on this one

Then your a very lucky person!
To be honest, the closet thing to a iconic big band of this generation is Paramore.
And they're no where near the status of Led Zepplin or The Beatles. Our generation of music needs to step up.

Please, no. :(
Parawho?
There will be no band that will be remembered all over the world anymore. It's all about subcultures. Metal has 'this' band, rap got 'that' etc.
I would say Muse, or to an extent U2
I dunno, probably some band or artist that is doing music now and will keep on doing that for a very long time, and stay populare at that time too! But wich band or who?
