The 00's is a sad time indeed, for all the loosers like slipknot (Why do they go on stage with masks?!) or linkin park(who just scream) or bullet for my valentine, all the "MainStream ""Metal"". These band are not metal, they are scremo(spelt it like that since they are emo. The real rock/metal genres are the 70's/80's Such as Iron Maiden(70's) Metallica(80's though theyre still around now) Slayer(80's) and others like Black Sabbath 70's Deep Purple (70's though not sure just from my head) Led Zeppelin (60's JUST) Well, I'd say I'v just said all I know about how older Heavy Metal is better than the new "metal" though probably the best modern bands from 00's are Disturbed, Rise against, Dragonforce(Dragonforce ARE good just that they use the whammy, harmoniser, other one i don't know, though they use it too much :D) Thanks for reading if you did >:D I'm in places doing things i shouldnt

Right there. Apart from Disturbed being mainstream nu metal and Dragonforce being poorly done Power Metal, Rise Against isn't even heavy metal.

Rock has melted into so many genres of retarded bands that we basically can't choose anymore. Year 2000 was truly the day the music died.
Indie Rock like placebo or electronic dance like Justice and MSTRKRFT,i hope.Hip-Hop and Emo will probably make it though *sigh*
Fleet Foxes are the best band to emerge recently, and they only have 1 album.

I think the metal the 00's should be remembered for should be stuff like BTBAM but it's going to be the screamo bands.

You are an idiot.
It won't be remembered for the screamo bands at all, despite their popularity amongst young folk such bands are still not the mainstream, it would have to be a group or artist who is a household name.
I think that a indie rock band is going to define the 00s. I hope for modest mouse, but it will probably be The Killers.
Fleet Foxes are the best band to emerge recently, and they only have 1 album.
Yes, this man. Listen to him. Nickelback. :derp:
The Decemberists are rapidly growing in popularity
i don't care what anyone says i've got interpol on my list :smug: oh great a gay rainbow that's just great
The Killers?
Probably the emo music and subculture or indie music and subculture, perhaps both.
Emo, kind of like the 80s was hair metal and new wave, and the 70s was punk and rock and roll, and the 90's was grunge, the 00s were the emo decade, way to go everyone :emo:
no, maybe mall emo and shit, mtv emo. 90's was the decade for emo, if you knew what it was. [editline]10:10PM[/editline] it will be remembered for indie, i think.
wow this decade is not going to be remembered for rock rock is dead. 00s will be remembered for the rise of electronic
wow this decade is not going to be remembered for rock rock is dead. 00s will be remembered for the rise of electronic
Homework came out in 1998. Plus the electronic's community/subculture isn't universally recognized enough to the point where you can tell they like electronic music because of their appearance like other music subcultures like punk, emo, goth, etc, unless you count rave music, which is a joke.
kanye west is a genius and the voice of this generation
THIS THREAD IS NOW ABOUT PREDICTIONS OF MUSIC IN THE 10'S: i think punk style, like the "fuck the authority principle" kinda stuff will get big. only because the worlds about to go to shit

Who knows? No one really saw the whole scene kid thing coming.
Yeah, Indie will be what we're remembered by
Problem is all the really good music nowadays is mostly underground [editline]08:02PM[/editline]
I think that a indie rock band is going to define the 00s. You didn't see their music playing on the radio all the time in the 90's. Now because of their poppier approach they've gotten very popular now.
