Yeah, I suppose hearing it over and over during the course of gaming would be annoying. It's not their best. Listen to Pretty Noose or Burden in my Hand, they're my favourites.
They sound like something my brother would (and probably does) listen to.
Not my cup of tea, but I wouldn't mind it in the background.

Hm, how old are you?

I happen to be 17. I oddly don't remember Soundgarden blasting from my brother in the 90's. I remember a lot of Nirvana and Pixies.
How come people are only thinking of mainsteram bands?
Because this generation won't be remembered by Chad VanGaalen or Mogwai.
Richard Cheese? :D
Audioslave, i guess.

didn't they break up?
Mastodon
I think Coldplay probably.
god dammit, who gives a rats ass.
Nine Inch Nails (not the old NIN, the post-Fragile NIN)
Coldplay for sure
The Fray
A lot of bands today are just big from the 90's.
Otherwise I'd say Green Day and Weezer, because they have large followings still.
If we're talking bands with big followings, why not just say the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Goo Goo Dolls, or Styx? I think OP meant bands from like, late 90's to present, in which I can't really name many except like MCR or Fall Out Boy. So in other words, emo music.

Back in '07.
Nine Inch Nails (not the old NIN, the post-Fragile NIN)
too bad post-fragile NIN is absolute shit compared to The Downward Spiral and The Fragile
Muse/The Killers/Modest Mouse/Franz Ferdinand/Pendulum/The Bloodhound Gang and Daft Punk [As the gods of electronica] are the only bands/groups who actually deserve that title.
I don't get sreamo, like some bands are alright like parkway drive but it's all just angry for no particular reason. the way I see it is that the reason music has died is no one gives a shit about anything anymore, and good music comes from two things and two things only, hardships within life or large amounts of drugs. But ya with any luck next year someone awesome will start playing and people will just be like "holy shit!!!, everything else sounds like singing shit."
I don't get sreamo either
soulja boy ?
then ill stick my eyes out
Let's face it, the only thing we will be remembered by is sarcasm and Kanye West.
too bad post-fragile NIN is absolute shit compared to The Downward Spiral and The Fragile
Probably Muse, Coldplay, The Killers, and Disturbed or some other mainstream band.
Indie Rock like placebo or electronic dance like Justice and MSTRKRFT,i hope.Hip-Hop and Emo will probably make it though *sigh*
in hip hop kanye and eminem
thanks for reading and if you dont like it go on the internet and complain ;)
I'm not sure if there will be any great legendary bands of the 00's, no-one that populare is probably gonna stay that populare or become that popular. Also, there are so many styles and different tastes today.
I have to say for metal, Mastodon, Devin Townsend Project, Meshuggah and SiKth
Muse/The Killers/Modest Mouse/Franz Ferdinand/Pendulum/The Bloodhound Gang and Daft Punk [As the gods of electronica] are the only bands/groups who actually deserve that title.
I would think you're missing deadmau5 in that list...though that list is your own opinion, so I'm not gonna be a jack-ass and forcibly insert deadmau5 in there.
I remember this thread
I have to say for metal, Mastodon, Devin Townsend Project, Meshuggah and SiKth
Although I'm not their number 1 one fan you could probably add Opeth to that list
Between The Buried And Me comes to mind. Not massively popular, though. Or at least I don't think.
Wu-Tang clan
tiger style
I don't like any of those bands tbh. I think the metal the 00's should be remembered for should be stuff like BTBAM but it's going to be the screamo bands.
Though I can deal with the screamo stuff, as it has so been labeled. I honestly agree that the 00's should be remember for Between the Buried and Me or anyone like them. Between the Buried and Me has a flow to them thats just, perfect.
