Erm they also kinda broke up in 2000 so that kinda excludes them from being the band of the '00s'.

Megadeth,Slayer,radiohead
Everyone is wrong fyi
This is the generation where the internet has finally broken through into Music, what the fuck are you people talking about.
Exactly.
The LATE 80's was hair metal and New Wave of British Heavy Metal, such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead.
That's horribly wrong, Iron Maiden's debut came out in 1980, Judas Priest's debut came out in 1974, and Motörhead's debut came out in 1977...
Well, for the 00's...
Hm.
Well, a lot of my friends listen to The Offspring.
As for the 90's I would definitely have to say Pantera.

Their prime was in the 90's though..
Rise against!
fall out boy and Britney spears
The 00's is a sad time indeed, for all the loosers like slipknot (Why do they go on stage with masks?!) or linkin park(who just scream) or bullet for my valentine, all the "MainStream ""Metal"". These band are not metal, they are scremo(spelt it like that since they are emo. The real rock/metal genres are the 70's/80's Such as Iron Maiden(70's) Metallica(80's though theyre still around now) Slayer(80's) and others like Black Sabbath 70's Deep Purple (70's though not sure just from my head) Led Zeppelin (60's JUST) Well, I'd say I'v just said all I know about how older Heavy Metal is better than the new "metal" though probably the best modern bands from 00's are Disturbed, Rise against, Dragonforce(Dragonforce ARE good just that they use the whammy, harmoniser, other one i don't know, though they use it too much :D) Thanks for reading if you did >:D I'm in places doing things i shouldnt
I really don't think you have ANY idea what you're talking about and I'm almost certain that you're under the age of 14.
I think Coldplay or something like that def. would be the '00s band.
So?
They don't have a mind of their own. They buy into anything that is sold as "trendy" or "hip" picturing attractive models. They don't think for themselves.
Slipknot actually isn't that bad of a band. Could they lose the image a bit? Yes. But they're actually good.
Same with Bullet. Bullet's even better than SK in my opinion, but only when they scream a little less.
Linkin Park used to be good, but not so much now.
The Strokes or Interpol, then again that's just me.
Yes you do.
Uhh no, not really.
Ian D is always right, bitch.
Ludwig Von Beethoven.
His music may be slightly dated, but it's what's hip, yo.
Can I say that Muse is probably the best (live) band of the 21st century without getting spammed with red x's and brown boxes?

So if they like it, and they buy it because they like it, you consider them to not have a mind of their own...

I wish, but I stand with my first statement that The Killers are going to be the band people remember the 00s by. They are popular here in the United States and Europe (They played at the European MTV awards).
Muse isn't popular enough in the US. Even with Twilight and Guitar Hero.

Who are the Killers?
:v:
I'll remember it for the music I listened to, not what other people listen to

Haha, you definitely know nothing.
1. Slipknot wears the masks for publicity and to "Feel the music."
2. Linkin Park just screams? Ok, go listen to What I've Done or In the End. There is not a single scream in either of these.
3. Bullet for My Valentine is not screamo.
Slipknot is Nu Metal. It's called a subgenre.
BFMV is Metalcore. It's called a subgenre.
Shut the fuck and stop trying to be a hardcore metalhead.

I just feel like being a little bitch and pointing this out.
Hardcore is not related to metal at all.
Hardcore is a genre of a punk, a seperate genre from metal.
Basically by combining "hardcore metalhead" you're proving your ignorance.
I suppose a "Practice what you preach" fits here.
But don't worry, I still agree with what you said completely. I'm not doing this to be insulting or anything. Like I said, I felt like being a bitch and pointing out the little minute detail there. I still love you, I still respect you. Don't take no offense by it. :buddy:
I think he meant something else by hardcore metalhead.
[editline]04:41PM[/editline]
Kind of like die hard metal head.
^ What he said.
Uhh no, not really.
Yeah ok I guess not.

No, I disagree.
