Can you bring back gold membership for the new year ? - General

I think it's just a case of the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, there aren't really any benefits to being gold, the only thing I use it for is to check the refugee camp. However, I think that if gold were to come back, it shouldn't be earnt through posting or seniority, it should be something like a semi-annual award ceremony for people who have actually done something neat for the community.

I never had the money to buy gold until it had been removed. I got close to some of the early goals for achieving gold. I remember the day I crossed one an it didn't happen. I was so confused. It had only been a few days previous. I'm sure the same event repeated itself when I reached the next one. That it I had been given misleading figures. Either way the goalposts gifted for me every time and I never got it. Went to buy it one day and bam, it had been removed a week previousl.

From people advisting their server to a bunch of russian idiots posting a picture of a cat for a key. He has the highest ban count in the forum due to this. Also, The mods used to make money from boostar before garry removed alot of things from it. It was mentioned somewhere on this forum awhile back

I wouldn't mind it, even if for supporting the forums. The Gold Members forum seems to be a shitfest anyway, so the only kick out of it is avatars really, and even that's just a little thing.

I don't get why a notice saying "Gold will not net you Rust keys" couldn't have been added instead of outright removal of gold. But man, I hope gold gets re-added. I have so many camcorder youtube videos to work with for avatars.

All avatars are cached so you normally download them once unless you clear your cache every session or something. garry took this into consideration when he upped the glod memebr avatar size. The only bandwidth issues were from humongous threads so he occasionally order the mods to close them. Side note: Only reason for the decreased blue member avatar size is a dumbshit who didn't know the wrath of garry's whims.
