Holy shit, I haven't seen that movie in fucking forever...
Here's how this thread is appearing to turn out: People post a poster of a popular movie and insist that it is a cult film.
I went to high school with one other person who had ever heard of Dead Alive.
I went to high school with one other person who had ever heard of Dead Alive.
Now there's another movie I haven't seen in a very long time.
Here's a real fuckin' example of a cult film:

I thought it sucked, though. Generally, a cult film is a film that tends to "fail" at the box office, but is renowned for its artistic values (whether in style or character, etc.) that are considered "above average" to other films. They mostly make a killing at DVD sales.

This isn't a cult film, it's already liked by a wide array of faggots
Fine Since people say Shaun of the Dead isn't a cult film here's one from Edgar Wright that is a Cult Film That I love

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Just watched it actually. It's now probably one of my favorite movies.

Do you even know what a cult film is?
Do you even know what a cult film is?
I'm pretty sure he's just trolling now.
Pan's Labyrinth (I'd call it a cult film, not many people I know have heard of it)
Moon
Anvil: The Story of Anvil
Self-explanatory.
Just got around to watching Death Race 2000 (1975) then the remake Death Race (2008) last night. I love how silly it is, its a movie that knows its silly and just goes with it. The remake (more of a slightly inspired modernization) was interesting. Unlike the original film it was meant to be real serious and gritty but in my opinion it didn't really pull it off well. The main problem I had was that the cars had no character, they all look like the same junkyardwars-ish killing machine (with a big shiny Mustang badge on the front ). It kinda took itself too seriously for what it is.
Check out the original Death Race 2000, its really a lot of fun to watch.

Oh fuck, I love you.
Stalker is pretty cultsy for American audiences.
One of the few films that are the absolute epitome of a cult classic.

I was debating whether or not to post Stalker as it was pretty popular in the Soviet Union.
donnie darko is not a cult film, it's appreciated by teenagers for being "mind-blowing" when it's actually got a shitty plot and a "mind-bending" twist
basically one teenager watched it, showed it to his friends, they assumed it was cool because they had never heard of it, and thus donnie darko perpetuated into what it is now
ask any teenager if they've seen it, and they'll say "yeah i've seen donnie darko, it was SOOOOO cool!"
Yeah, totally, it honestly couldn't be the fact that it accomplishes the theories its based on very well, the fact that even the smallest thing in the movie turns into a major plot detail and pulls it off remarkably well, couldn't be how it represents several different psychological phenomena.
It's definitely because of ignorant teenagers that this is popular.
I wish that "The last man on earth" was a cult film. I guess it spawned a god awful movie which became relativley popular where I live, so maybe I'm right in saying this. :D
(I only dislike "I am legend" because IMO it pales in comparison to the feel of the original film. I suppose it's passable as it's own film... Bit of a run of the mill blockbuster survival though.)

it also garnished a sequel. not very cultish, i don't think.
My cousin's dad was a dancer in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Not my favourite (far too many have been listed already) but I liked Guest House Paradiso. Although in the same vein as Bottom (and not quite as good) this isn't a 'Bottom Movie' according to Rik mayall and Adrian Edmondson.
It is though isn't it?
