I think even if peoples production quality is bad, just having a place to put it and get attention, just through making more songs will make the music better. That's why I take part in online competitions, and very cheap contracts. By making music, you are practising making music, and by practising making music, you are making music. It's a vicious circle which leads to better skills.
As far as getting a Label is concerned, there are alot of costs you need to take on board. There is a company which registers each song with it's own unique code, which identify that song so you can sell it. In order to get that, you have to pay the authority. I do not remember the name of this authority, but I know it's not all that cheap. I know you can also register to be able to register these codes yourself. That costs many monies, but would be worth it in the long run. My suggestion would be to change the terms of this collaboration and say that half goes to charity, and the other half goes to setting up as a label.
I'm not sure how much I can contribute money wise, since I don't have much money myself, however, you have as much moral support as I can give. I'm also pretty good with branding and marketing, so if you need any advice there, I'm happy to give it.
The whole label thing seems really cool. I'd support it
Signing me and Inacio up, but put rawDMG in the participants list please

ISRC? You can get those for free, and you don't even need them to sell music. Well, you don't need one to sell music digitally. I'm not so sure about physical sales, but I'm pretty sure if you're selling music physically through a music distribution service they give you the codes.

And I agree with what you said about splitting the money 50/50 between charity and the label.

Come to think about it, I think you're right about not needing them to sell digitally. I was looking to sell some of my stuff before and did some research on how I'd go about doing it. Whatever it was, I'm sure we'll find in due course.
Anyways, would "Fistface Records" be a good name for the label?

I'm cool with that.
I guess "Fistface Records" it is.

I think I'll use my personal site's hosting and just buy a new domain for the sake of saving money.
Sounds logical.

I can honestly say that if you released an album I would buy it.
i'll go for it this time round again, but ill spend a bit more time on it
so how exactly will you choose the order of the songs, gregah
I want the albums on Spotify
The albums released on Fistface Records (including the collabs) will eventually be going to Spotify. It is definitely not a priority, though.
(you fuckin' brits and your spotify)

We already know that whoever gets the first slot on the album will have the most plays. The only question is who should get that slot.
Added you guys on the list, fistfacerecords.com sounds awesome and I'll try and scrounge up some cash to get this thing going.
Regarding placement on the CD ; I'm not sure to be honest, I have an idea but I'm going to keep it secret until all the songs are in.

Sweet! Think you could add some shit about it to the op?
I think we should work out on some of the rules and that kind of stuff (such as how profit is shared) before it's added to the OP, I like the way it looks like now though.
However, I believe you should ask garry regarding using the same design as facepunch, I'm pretty sure the design is copyrighted and using it can be legal issues.

I already posted earlier that the profit would be shared 60-40, with the 60 percent going to the artist.
I'll try to contact garry about it, but I'm not sure if i'll be able to get a hold of him
I was rather shocked to discover that you can embed soundcloud stuff on Facepunch. But I will totaly give money to this, I'm still listening to the first album. I like to listen to it on my mp3 player during walks.
