Hey, I'll hear you out. I just can't see anarchy working in any society with more than forty people.
Anarchy won't work IMO because somebody will end up appointing a leader and blah blah blah society all over again.
Most people are centrist. I have some liberal views and some conservative views, it's not a polar decision you know. You don't HAVE to be Conservative, you don't HAVE to be Liberal, there's plenty of space in between to choose from. I'm open to both sides too, but unfortunately facepunch has a tendency to flame anyone who even slightly moves to the right, even though they don't fucking understand what the right or left really stands for, they only like to hear one side of the argument.
If Sam Tilgan is the base of your arguments, it's best you just accept defeat and agree with your parents right now and save the breath.
I am automatically wrong because I have an opposing opinion hurf durf
Hey, I'll hear you out. I just can't see anarchy working in any society with more than forty people.
Herp.
That's idiotic. Opinions cannot be right. Therefore there is no correct position because politics revolve around opinions. [editline]02:21AM[/editline] Mhm, but you didn't obviously, because I quoted yound.
But the opinions are based around a construct which can be evaluated to form the most accurate opinion. Now do you want to get into the whole "perfect is an unattainable trait so we should give up" routine?
Welcome, my fellow right-wing brother.
That is far from a wall of text.
It's good to remain open-minded. Inevitably, both sides will feed you bullshit at one point or another. As far as anti-Iraq movies go, I prefer: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0854678/

Now do you want to get into the whole "perfect is an unattainable trait so we should give up" routine?
Mhm not really. On the first part that is. On the second, perfection is an unattainable trait.
I am automatically wrong because I have an opposing opinion hurf durf
No, you're wrong because you're you, and you've never once shown yourself to be an empirical thinker, ever.
Hey, I'll hear you out. I just can't see anarchy working in any society with more than forty people.
Well, even if an anarchist society arose, anarchists wouldn't stop others from forming their own governments. Because then they'd be infringing upon the personal freedom each individual would have. Now, what if those said governments decided to attempt and conquer the anarchists? Simple. Anarchist militias.
No, you're wrong because you're you, and you've never once shown yourself to be an empirical thinker, ever.
Define empirical thinker.
Mhm not really. On the first part that is. On the second, perfection is an unattainable trait.
So no opinion can be formed around a social construct? Ok then, I'm glad that you agree with me in that there can be a correct opinion on politics.
Now, what if those said governments decided to attempt and conquer the anarchists? Simple. Anarchist militias.
cool story bro
Anarchy won't work IMO because somebody will end up appointing a leader and blah blah blah society all over again.
Why would society disappear? Anarchists do not oppose civilization, unless your one of those primitivist anarchists. Which is just absurd.
Define empirical thinker.
He's probably making up words, like a typical "intelligent" facepunch user who has a fucking thesaurus and dictionary website open so they sound more "intelligent". Not saying he's doing that of course. Don't wanna start a flame war.
So no opinion can be formed around a social construct? Ok then, I'm glad that you agree with me in that there can be a correct opinion on politics.
An opinion can be formed on anything. Therefore unless proven cannot be fact. For instance, we've been to the moon, fact. The left wing is correct. Opinion. I don't consider myself anything. I have agreed with both the left and the right. All those "political tests" call me a "right leaning centrist" So apparently I agree with the right more than the left. I guess that probably has something to do with growing up in a Republican family. I have to say I don't really like both parties, and wish you two would stop fighting at each other about who's right or wrong, and just get some work done that benefits the country as a whole.
Why would society disappear? Anarchists do not oppose civilization, unless your one of those primitivist anarchists. Which is just absurd.
It's not civilization, it's governing. Bad word choice, whatever. But anarchy in itself would fail.
Well, even if an anarchist society arose, anarchists wouldn't stop others from forming their own governments. Because then they'd be infringing upon the personal freedom each individual would have. Now, what if those said governments decided to attempt and conquer the anarchists? Simple. Anarchist militias.
EXCEPT if anarchy broke out, and everyone was forming their own tiny governments, wouldn't that just constitute even less anarchy? Hell, if I was the only person on earth, anarchy would still be impossible. Everyone governs themselves, to some extent. Anarchy = An (no) + Arch(government). So technically, anarchy is never possible.
Lol. See what I mean. Instead of me going on about this go read some Emma Goldman, Noam Chomsky, Peter Kropotkin, and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon.

Wear it proud my friend, you're open to both sides of the arguments, and you're not a complete whiny dick like the far left and right people are.
Define empirical thinker.
A person who verifies statements before touting them as fact, doesn't base belief on nebulous and/or biased sources, and at the very least only defends extraordinary claims if extraordinary evidence for their being correct is present and producible?
Why would society disappear? Anarchists do not oppose civilization, unless your one of those primitivist anarchists. Which is just absurd.
That...that IS anarchy. A lack of civilised soceity.
Lol. See what I mean. Instead of me going on about this go read some Emma Goldman, Noam Chomsky, Peter Kropotkin, and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon.
No i dont see what you mean. You're giving up. Which is probably why nobody takes you seriously about it.
That...that IS anarchy. A lack of civilised soceity.
Wrong.
You're a centrist, that's what you are. Wear it proud my friend, you're open to both sides of the arguments, and you're not a complete whiny dick like the far left and right people are.
Or you know, they have opinions. Just a thought.

They have completely opposing views, along with massive pressure to vote on party lines. Of course, i say screw the pressure, vote the way best for the country, but what do I know?
Wrong.
explain what anarchy means in your terms
No i dont see what you mean. You're giving up. Which is probably why nobody takes you seriously about it.
Oh no, I'm not giving up. But I use to be the same way, until someone basically told me to read up on some of the great Anarchist writers.
