Iraq war is stupid.
Us Australians have nothing to do with it.
Because for every party there is a reason for them:
Conservatives tend to be more close minded, they do not want to open up to new ideas, and most are very greedy.
Liberals Are on the other hand, are more open minded and think of what good can become of every governmental decision, and more or less will actually find the actual good and bad sides to things.
So therefore it's an oil/water situation, you cannot turn a conservative into a liberal, nor can you the other way around.
Might as well have said, "Well it's kind of like this, Democrats are like Luke and Republicans are like Emperor Palpatine."
Yes but you acted like I was a conservative
Did I even say that? No
Facepunch is very libertarian. For the most part, we're pro-gay rights, pro-abortion, anti-gun control, anti-drug control, stuff like that.
Not it isn't. If they were libertarian they wouldn't support UHC, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, MAYBE support public education, MAYBE support public library, probably support a public postal service, would probably not support electoral college and would probably be for less than 10% tax rate of total income.
Another way to describe left wing (kind of in a nutshell) is "Socially libertarian but not economically libertarian" (Which really means not libertarian)
Most of them are warm and comfy with your side and want to to decide for yourself... just as long as you decide for yourself their way.
The problem with this statement is that you're grouping a number of different reactions together as "hating the opposing view".
That means you're grouping people who disagree and then show exactly why the other is wrong with people who cross their eyes and yell "dat maeks u a nazi rasist".
Did I even say that? No
Sorry. I thought that's what you were calling me when you changed my post to "Hi! I'm mister end the conflict in the US! How may I help you?".
What did you mean by that? Why am I the guy who's trying to end the conflict in the US. I haven't even taken a stance yet.
do you?
Yes. Communism is the social and economic ideology of equally spreading resources around to all people in a society, according to what they need, and trying to keep everyone on the same economic, political, and social level.
Yes. Communism is the social and economic ideology of equally spreading resources around to all people in a society, according to what they need, and trying to keep everyone on the same economic, political, and social level.
that's a good dictionary quote sir.
props.
Facepunch can't handle politics. I stopped debating it years ago. I'll drop in and say something, most likely the lot of you will be against it. But I try not to debate with you people anymore.
What do you mean, "you people?"
Yes. Communism is the social and economic ideology of equally spreading resources around to all people in a society, according to what they need, and trying to keep everyone on the same economic, political, and social level.
Shouldn't this part actually be "regardless of what they need" ?
Then define communism, please. Do you know what it means?
first off i'd like to say it's impossible for our government to take on the shape of another government, as that would call for immediate impeachment. as for why so many people completely dismiss this is beyond me.
anyway, communism is where the government has complete control over the economy and markets. our government may tax and put limits to prevent monopolization, but it's the taxes and limits that keep it from being a communistic government/economy. the limits placed on companies to prevent them from becoming a monopoly really screams that this is the opposite of communism, really, as in a communist government, the government would be in favor of that monopoly, and would own that monopoly for its income and earnings. our government doesn't do that, now, does it? it places limits, but as i said that's a sign of not being communistic, and it does not take the earnings. taxes are not earnings.

You are trying to bridge between conservitisim, and liberalism. Which is impossible.
or you know, have opinions and stick to them and not change every 5 mins.
This is probably the most misguided post I've ever seen.
Why shouldn't you change your opinion if new information comes to light? If someone produced a paragraph in the new Health Reform bill that stated "also we'll have death panels kill seniors", would it be bad for me to change my opinion to support the new evidence that has come to light?
He started his career with and studied the works of socialists
I don't think Obama's a Nazi, but why did he bow to the Saudi King, then refuse to even look at Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister)?
Fascism is pretty much socialism
The whole 'born in Kenya' thing is dumb, neither side has enough evidence for anything
I've studied socialism too, just like every other college student who has taken a history course.
He bowed because it's a sign of respect, you can see Bush doing the same thing multiple times and even kissing him on the cheek. We shake hands hear, so delegates from the middle east who come here shake hands.
Socialism = / = Nazi party. Saying this creates fear, which is not the way to do things.
I don't see how a 1950's newspaper stating the birth of Obama in the local news isn't credible. Unless Kenyan Obama has a time machine.
Way to not read the rest of my post. If you want the Republican party to look good, go down to the Town Halls and tell people to start talking with facts, not screaming and creating fear to turn people to their mob.
MY GOD
Maybe they're fearful BECAUSE THE FACTS HAVE BEEN RIGHT THERE ALL ALONG
Shouldn't this part actually be "regardless of what they need" ?
No.
that's a good dictionary quote sir.
props.
Except if you google it, it doesn't come up at all. So it's not copypasta.
that's a good dictionary quote sir.

Not from a dictionary.
Those are my own words.
Iraq war is stupid.

Well, if anybody actually read the bill, I'd say yes, but as they didn't, nope.
Being left wing, wouldn't they be fine with you coming out?
:golfclap: You deserve a medal for that one.

Nazi = short for National Socialist German Worker's party.

In defense of the reps, calling a group of obviously pissed protesters and totally disregarding what they have to say, whether its bullshit or not, is extremely fucked up. Especially when your their Representative Your JOB is to defend the word of the people in your state/community, not act on your own ideals.
Let's not forget now the dems had their fair share of rowdy protests.
And Nancy Pelosi is a fucking senile bitch who deserves to loose her job.
Well, if anybody actually read the bill, I'd say yes, but as they didn't, nope.
Well, he's got a point there. I skimmed through the bill though.
Nazi = short for National Socialist German Worker's party.
They're not really socialist though.
