Hell, I'd use GBBRs if I had the cash. But I only have enough to get a good gun and gear, and then BBs. Most GBBRs, gear, and gas and BBs would cost a lot more.
Just did some more testing with the M14. Fuck this gun is accurate. Shooting at soda cans from roughly 15 yards away and I was hitting them fairly consistently, despite not having the sights adjusted to where they need to be. Currently my iron sights need to be adjusted lower, but they're already as low as they can go. Hopefully this will be alright at longer ranges. I mean this gun was shooting more accurate than my M15 was when I installed that piece of shit Systema tightbore.
I wish I had $380 lying around to buy one :saddowns:
I watched the helmet cam video. GBB dissapoints me with the sound, I thought there would be some loudness, but the kick looks nice. Every time you fired the camera shook, so obviously it shakes you a bit.
Trust me, the sound in the video does not do the gun justice. It's a lot fucking louder than that. The reason why it doesn't sound as loud in videos is because most cameras will have a limit of how loud of a sound they can pick up. Let me put it this way, I'm actually scared to fire this in my backyard because it's that loud, just waiting for someone to call the cops.
I'm actually kind of excited to see the WE L85 once it comes out.
Oh, well in that case I look forward to any Skirmish videos you may make in the Future.

Yeah I can see it now. I shoot it, then some stupid kid next to me will go "OMG IS TAT A GAS M14! TAS SO COOL! I CAN SHOOT IT!?!?!". I'll probably just tell the kid to fuck off and get his own lol. Knowing my luck if I let them shoot it they would drop it from being shocked by the recoil.
Haha, good luck with that. IS TAHT LIKE AN M21 EBR??? I UZE THAT SHIZZ ALL THE TIMEZ IN SEARCH!!!
Haha, good luck with that. IS TAHT LIKE AN M21 EBR??? I UZE THAT SHIZZ ALL THE TIMEZ IN SEARCH!!!
And then they try to trigger spam it but get all mad because they can't because it actually has recoil IRL.
If any kid says it's a M21 this is what I'll do
-"IS THAT A M21!?!"
-- No it's not, let me show you (flips to full auto, aims at noob)
-- CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK
-"OUCH FUCK OK IT's A M14!"
He's got a modded controller!
That's what i love about classic guns and GBBR's. Less parts. Classic guns are better though (More expensive due to the systems inside. But you can use aeg mags and make an even harder kick

Yeah, wish I could afford one but I simply don't make that much money. Some day I'll look into one again.
Yeah, My friend's AK105 recoils nearly like the real steel. Look down the iron sights long enough and your vision just blurs
No way - you've legitimately fired an AK105? I mean, 5.45x39 isn't a hard recoiling round in the slightest, but I'm pretty sure the GBBRs have 22lr recoil, if that. I'd say the max I've ever felt was probably in the 9mm range.
Classic gun's you can make it recoil as hard as you want. Add recoil weights to the bolt and it shoots hard as fuck.
Still, recoiling like the real cartridges seems like a stretch.
I'd love a GBB handgun that recoils like a real .45, that shit is fun as hell to shoot.
I've never fired a real gun so I can't relate. What I'm assuming is that it's a fuckton more powerful than what the movies show.

I haven't fired anything above a .44, so I can't say much about rifles. The 9mm doesn't have much of a kick, a .45ACP has a decent amount of kick, while the .44 had too much of a kick for me to properly handle. The beavertail on the grip of the .44 revolver managed to somehow dig into the webbing on my hand and cut it a bit. :saddowns:
I got to shoot an older M1911 though, without the slidelock and shit. That was fun.

Is that the DG AK-105?

Doesn't look "1:1" but looks like a REALLY fun gun to shoot, probably moreso than the Shoei MG42.
Just got a low profile CA scope mount. Guys at AEX gave me a scare on the installation process. They said the stripper clip guide on the WE M14 didn't have a regular screw you could just twist out with an allen key, claiming it was some sort of weird screw. Their solution was to brace it and bash the shit out of it with a hammer and punch until the pin snapped in half. I was thinking this would be a bitch, til I got home and inspected it myself.
So I disassembled my gun in a few seconds. Checked out this so called screw. Turns out it's nothing more than a pin that was pressed into the stripper clip guide and receiver of the gun. Best of all it was a through hole on both parts. 30 seconds later after grabbing my custom steel punch I made for the CA M15's bolt release pin, I had tapped the pin out of the guide and receiver with all parts intact and mounted the scope shortly after. I think it's safe to say AEX failed horribly with their method.
I did run into one issue. I racked the bolt only to see it return 3/4 the way back. Turns out the side screw from the mount was protruding into the path of the bolt. So after installed a washer that came with the mount it worked just fine.
Now I just need to figure out what scope to use. The ACOG won't work due to it's short eye relief and the fact that I can't mount it far enough back. So it's looking like I'll be using either an Aimpoint, EOTech 552, or some sort of larger scope.

I just drilled the little screw out and pushed out the guide.
At least I still have all the parts intact so I can reinstall it if I ever want to.
Zeroed in a scope today. Accuracy with .25g bbs was so so. Hitting maybe an 8" grouping at 15 yards, but at least I can hit a soda can nearly 90% of the time on the first shot at 10 yards. I'll buy some heavier bbs later on to see if it helps.
.28's or .30's seem like they'd make it tighter. Just your range would be sacrificed.
Or would it? Does it matter on a GBB? I never really thought about that...
I was under the impression that .28's and above would have better range and accuracy over the lighter bb's. With the greater inertia of the heavier BB's, shouldn't they be able to reach farther?
Kinda like throwing a piece of paper compared to a sheet of steel.

I guess that's true. The heavier the BB, the less resistance and more weight behind it.
That's what I was thinking, not sure how applicable that theory is with airsoft guns, GBBR's in particular, but it should be somewhat true, maybe not as drastic a difference as I'm imagining though.
Maybe I'll get around and do a test of the different BB's at different ranges or something, once I get a chrono.
Venom, you're right. Kinda. Basically, it is like throwing a sheet of paper as opposed to a sheet of steel- the paper (like a .12) will go nowhere. A sheet of steel (which could be anything from .2 to .4, depending on the gun, snipers really only covering that top part) will go farther, in a straighter line. That's obviously your best bet. But if you get too heavy, say... a sheet of lead, you're not throwing it anywhere usable anymore, that's when you have too heavy bb's. Depends on the gun set up, more than anything.
