If I'm wrong about the England part, forgive me, I don't live there nor do I read up on it's politics, but I know it's not a dictatorship.
I can't fucking stand it when people get pissed at their countries government, when what they're complaining about has no effect on them, nor does it effect anyone near them. For example, when someone says something like, "This country is so invasive of privacy now.", [I]How[/I] the hell is your privacy being invaded so terribly, that you feel the need to exemplify your beliefs on the worst anarchist state ever conceived. So far, no system has been perfect. Democracy has fallen, Republics have fallen, Communism has failed, but all those are hell of a lot better than Anarchy.

The main problem is that in the absence of government warlords pop up and take over small parts of land... Then kill people and ration food to be assholes.
To the people that support the government, i am an anarchist, rly?, and i have only recently became an anarchist. the reason for me to become an anarchist is because i finally opened my eyes and noticed what the government did to the USA. George W. Bush has raped this country for 8 years and just left it here to die. Now, people are loosing their jobs and are hardly able to keep a roof over their head or even afford to feed themselves and their families. Also, companies and businesses are closing and/or dropping employees, making matters even worse for the people. if we follow the government that we have now, it might take AT LEAST 15 years to fully recover from this, unless of course we make this country anarchistic, then we wont have to worry so much about the problems we have now, and we wont have to worry about the damn police giving us fines/arresting us for nonsense reasons.

I consider myself somewhat of an anarchist, and no not the whole teenage punk anarchist. I'm a non-violent person, and think vandalism is incredibly stupid and gets no where. If anything, it encourages the state to have tighter control.
People seem to think anarchy is a complete lack of all rules and such. When in fact it's not. There would still be rules, they just wouldn't be run by a centralized state. Think of it as a decentralized direct democracy. The community as a whole has say, but there is no one particular power in control.
Now, you may be saying what is stopping everyone from going on there own an killing everyone? Simple, not any one person can fufill there own needs. That's where the concept of mutual aid comes in. A mutualist economy would be run by the workers and be based around people using there particular skills to help others and get what they need.
You may be looking at me and calling me an idiot, but I don't care. At least I'm not one of those stereotypical anarchists who only want violence and theft.

I think a lot of the reason some people are anarchists is testosterone and paranoia. They see the reasonable amount of corruption in government, haven't gotten over their teen angst yet, and need to rage and "fight the man" and rebel even if what they want doesn't make a bit of sense. What they should really fight for if they believe in complete change is temporary anarchy where they can establish what ever new government they believe in (most likely pure democracy), because no government is stupid.

"Anarchy" arises from ancient Greek "An," meaning without and "Archos" meaning leader.
You can add on all you really want to make the definition scare people into thinking this philosophy is bad all you want. But the definition of anarchy is simple. You also obviously have not read any of the philosophy of anarchism. Read some Emma Goldman.

That's funny. I got over my teen angst a long time ago. I have no urge to fight the man or rebel. I have friends who claim to be anarchists but have no idea what the philosophy is about and only do it because they seem to hate the president.
An anarchist society would be like a direct democracy, just without a state or superior authority.
