This thread is just a bit of fun for Americans or Europeans out there who frequently use American currency.
As you've probably figured out, this thread is about these odd things:

Yup, for those who don't know, two dollar bills do exist and really are legitimate US currency, even if they are rarely seen in circulation under normal circumstances.
It currently has the oldest design currently being used in US currency (pun half intended). It's also in my opinion one of the better looking designs seen on US currency, which tends to be relatively boring otherwise.
Because they are so uncommon, $2 bills have been used by some business to demonstrate their impact on the local economy, using them to pay their employees and noting the number in circulation in a given area. Some say they are also favored by strip clubs, as handing them out as change increases tips for dancers and bartenders over time.
Anyway, back on topic.
How many two dollar bills have you seen or used lately?
I got one after buying a few lottery tickets, (won 5$! :D) but i gave it to my sister for her birthday.
Turkish money all has really creepy peoples faces on it.

Plastic? They're folded in that image. Or is it some kind of lamination?
And Canada's money has different colors too.
Way to kill the environment
Fuck you. Aussie money is fantastic. You never have to worry about tearing it, getting it wet, or getting a fake bill on accident.
Not to mention, the whole point of Aussie money is so that you don't have to constantly keep making new bills unlike other nations. Shit lasts long, and looks nice and clean.
Indeed we are killing the environment, like we killed those huge forest! Oh wait we have more trees on the planet now than we did in the 1900's.
Sounds like a similar type of thing to the British £1 note.

They don't seem to print them anymore and they're quickly vanishing out of circulation. Probably because since they were first created, £1 has become worth a lot less.
We also have Darwin on our monies.
I always thought £1 notes were a strictly Scottish thing, though I haven't seen one for ages anyway.
Like this

Reminds me of the 2 baht coins we have in Thailand. They're legitimate but no one ever finds them.

You forgott the 2 krona :
Old Swedish king on one side, the swedish coat of arms on the other side. It contains 40% silver and is very rare. But you can still buy thing with it if you're a dumbass.

Inspired by this thread, I went looking for my families old bills, and I found a very interesting German bill,
"Zehn milliarden mark" which means 10 Billion Markka's.
After discovering it, I looked at the date it was printed and it was from 1923, when the Germans had the "hyperinflation", and it's actually worth something like 10-15$.

But even though I won't be a multi-millionaire with this, it was still a nice find, even though my copy of it is quite old and scrapped.
It's a shame that the $2 bill isn't used anymore, I've always liked the back design on it. Same with the 50 cent piece, I don't think anyone uses them any more.
Both are still minted/printed, just not as widely as in previous years.
You can go to a bank and trade 2 regular bucks for a 2 dollar bill.
Canadian money is cooler.

Warning, controversial in America.
Unlike most people in this thread I have no $2 bills and if I get one I WILL spend it. Although it's unlikely since I don't happen to live in the United States.
Countdown to the London 2012 Olympics £5 coins.
