Im having aburrido
This seems useful for learning Mandarin since it has really easy grammar from what I've heard.
Doing the french course. While I doubt it'll let me talk like a native, it'll make getting around and recognising words a whole lot easier when I'm there.
Does it teach me how to understand 16-year-old-girl-IM-speak?
by the way this isn't really how language acquisition works. you can definitely use this to practice and to expand vocabulary of languages that you already know somewhat, but you won't learn a new language just from doing this
It's still very helpful.
Does it teach me how to understand 16-year-old-girl-IM-speak?
lyk, n0
Can it help me become cunnilingual?
Can it help me become cunnilingual?
No but a mustache can, ladies love mustache rides
lime-ogre that is a good way to remember limoger
To dismiss I FUCKING LOVE LEARNING
I don't recommend the featured Japanese courses, as they focus on the Hiragana/Katakana readings, and don't test you on the Kanji readings. Essentially it means you'll probably end up having to relearn all the words with the Kanji readings to actually be able to read proper Japanese. I'm trying to find a better one on that site, but if anyone else knows of one, post it.

Can anyone tell my why other* languages have a prefix on a objects gender, or you include it in the word it eludes me, pretty much every mechanical thing in english is known as a female, but we don't use anything when saying it by its self, it's just "car"?
Thanks so much OP, this shit is addicting.
by the way this isn't really how language acquisition works. you can definitely use this to practice and to expand vocabulary of languages that you already know somewhat, but you won't learn a new language just from doing this
I use it to exercise and stimulate my memory and for expanding my English vocabulary. Already working pretty fine I must say! If you want to learn a new language then I would recommend Rosetta Stone. Shit was extremely helpful when I was (but to no real extent) learning Russian at school, but it probably works without taking any classes.
Going HK so I've started using this. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] But I'm going to go there are be like "HORSE LADLE EARTH CHILD"
this is only vocab, it's the grammar that is like smashing your face into a wall repeatedly and noticing how much you might try you will never reach the satisfaction of ending your life using this wall
latin grammar is okay, takes some getting used to but I find it quite logical (you have some exceptions)
isn't that a bit obvious
apparently not to everyone some people in this thread seem convinced that this will make them bilingual
Wow. I opened up the page, clicked French, and was impressed by the next page. Way better than my French I class I had.
We get taught French and German in the Netherlands, mostly. However, to be able to claim it is a language you know, you should be able to do basic conversations in the language, including speaking and writing it. With the basic French and German we get taught, we don't.
Depends on the level of education. I, myself, attended a classical gymnasium and I can write and speak French and German and translate Latin. But if you attend the VMBO it's likely you won't even be able to get anything useful from your languages.
Hahaha bilingual In the netherlands we have to learn 3 additional languages, sometimes 4 I am tetralingual if that's how you say it
do you want me to send you a medal or something
Oh man, thanks alot OP, seriously. I've wanted to learn Italian for a while now, this is just the thing i needed to do it. Something I can do in my free time and still learn from it. This site is awesome, it's too bad no one's made a Sign Language course with more than 12 really simple words, I'm taking that class in school and could use the practice.
In case you want a relatively good language education site you don't have to pay out the ass for, there's always Livemocha. http://www.livemocha.com/
Can someone refer to a program that's at least half as good as taking a class?
time to learn some afrikaans words

Anyway, i wonder if they have esperanto on here? Btw, more then 4 languages is a polygot.
This is helpful for my chinese lingo
Some of the languages don't have pronunciation, and I think that learning how to pronounce it is quite important if I want to learn the language. Any way to enable it?
time to learn some afrikaans words
I fucking hated that stupid trash at school. Utterly useless anywhere when English is the better alternative, and the fact that it was compulsory in school was terrible. The matriculant grade average for that is like 20%.
Some of the languages don't have pronunciation, and I think that learning how to pronounce it is quite important if I want to learn the language. Any way to enable it?
Well the site is in beta. The first 4 languages must be complete language courses.

I now know about 35 basic swedish phrases with this. Now I'm augmenting it with pronunciation videos and grammar from websites, as well as trying to pronounce each phrase :v: addictive stuff. I hope I actually learn something useful.
