• I am serious about getting tested for Aspergers syndrome

Seriously, I don't have it, I'm just anti-social, but some kid at my school REALLY has it, he hardly ever talks, he is fucking great at math and he SLAPPED a girl just because she was looking for him, yeah, it's a fake condition.
I took the test and got a score of 11. As for aspergers, it's a bullshit diagnosis. You're just antisocial, and need to get out more.
Someone who doesn't know the difference between "antisocial" and "asocial" shouldn't be giving lectures on bullshit diagnosis.
I got a score of 39, and i'm waiting for my diagnoses from the doctors. I've been tested and everything, my doctor strongly beleives i really have it. I also have selective mutism which makes it even harder. Aspergers isn't bullshit. It's a type of Autism. And if you ever met someone with autism you would feel sorry for them, trust me.
Man, screw your assburgers
I'm sorry?
Always bet on Duke!
Autism is really luck of the draw when you're talking about how severe it is. [editline]11:43PM[/editline] You can't really generalize them.
-Minor note: I'm not supporting the use of aspergers syndrome as a free ticket for doing nothing.
Some people really have severe asperger's, and that's no reason to tell them to fuck off and get a life (like half of you are saying). I personally have a half way between severe and average. I actually do get out of my house and go out with mates and stuff. But I still have the basic characteristics of asperger's, quietness, obsessive behaviour and terrible social skills (which is mainly picking up on visual clues). I mean, for fuck's sake, some people would love to be social but they mentally can't, and half the world says, "you're just hiding behind some bullshit diagnosis, get over it and get a life." Imagine how that would feel.

Hence why putting it in the same league as someone with autism or pretty much any other mental disorder is an insult to everyone. While you are crying about not having a social life and collecting pokemons, be glad you have the use of your legs, and you aren't seeing people appear and tell you to kill in front of your face, you dumb fucks.

Most Asperger's are high functioning anyway, and they aren't stupid enough to say it's worse than being in a wheelchair. If you think that, you're an idiot yourself.
I'm not going to act like I know enough about ADD or Asperger's or autism to speak very intelligently on the matter, but the sterotype that people often use it as a catchall excuse for anything they fail at, or that no such condition exists and everyone's just overreacting is pretty far from the truth. Sure, maybe diagnoses of the conditions have risen, but that's not to say that our schools are full of children receiving inflated grades due to their (real or imagined) perceived conditions. In fact, nobody actually cares, so even if somebody professes they are afflicted by either one, I wouldn't go about persecuting them. At worst it's a case of hypochondriasis.
READ THE DATE - Currently I'm not bothered with getting diagnosed or anything, I don't really care if I have it or not anymore.
Good job for you, realizing that for a majority of people, this specific "disorder" is so broadly defined to the point where any basement-dwelling nerd can fit the clinical requirements for diagnosis and medication. I'm pretty sure pharmaceutical companies make a killing off of the fake placebo-inducing "treatment" drugs for this "disorder."
Score: 24. Though i have aspergers...
I have Asperger's syndrome and I fuck loads of women.
I got 32 on the test. I've never been tested it doesn't really bother me at all. I'm just unsociable in large groups. Fuck 'em.

You aren't funny. :colbert:
There are persons with autism, adhd and asbergers, but if you get the opinion of 100 doctors about any child, I think that at least one of them can find something of those.
Since when did being a nerd mean that you have Asperger's Syndrome
Since when did being a nerd mean that you have Asperger's Syndrome
It's not just being a nerd but it's blurry in telling whether its nerdiness or what. But I don't think I have this. The conclusion I came to was just being an introvert. But then, there are all sorts of levels of this stuff, I often have trouble understanding people (I hear them, but I don't understand what they've said until I think it through in my head) and I'm obsessively paranoid at times. But for a condition like ASD's there's always going to be middleground. Being autistic just means you have a high level of autism I would think.
Since when did being a nerd mean that you have Asperger's Syndrome
no it means that if you get called out for being a nerd with no friends you can hide behind a medical disorder it's pretty handy really
You ate too much Asparagus?
I have asperger, but i got friends and i'm totally uhm... almost normal. And i think i'm pretty social, at least i was... till i found Facepunch. :psyduck:
My 19 year older brother has Aspergers Syndrome. He's a pretty cool guy. Hes social and he plays in a band with 3 of his mates. He doesnt go to school but he works in the music store since hes pretty much into music. Our mom and dads friend owns the shop but my bro doesnt get any money from working there. So i dont think you have to feel different. You're just like other people. I got ADD myself. I'm not very social. I dont go to school either, tho im 16 years old.
I scored a 38 retaking the test. I'm not an aspie. The test is a joke.
I scored a 38 retaking the test. I'm not an aspie. The test is a joke.
No it isn't, it serves as a good general guide on whether to get tested for an ASD or not. The statistics don't lie.
you best be trollin nigga.
READ THE DATE - Currently I'm not bothered with getting diagnosed or anything, I don't really care if I have it or not anymore. Diagnosis I've come to is that I'm just intraverted. I don't reckon I have anything like this because I'm fairly sure I know how to function and have conversation fully. A lot of the labelled symptoms and the test can't really diagnose fully I think and I'm just not very social. I don't think its a labelled condition doing this, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraversion_and_introversion#Introversion Hello facepunch. My name is James and I'm doing computer science at Portsmouth university. What started this inquiring thought that I may be slightly autistic is the crop up of a new group coursework we have to do in one of the units. The specification says we have to work in groups of 3-5 and I strongly want to do it by myself, and I really do mean strongly. My reasons for this is that I could get it done by myself in maybe 3 hours without having to mess around with anybody elses opinions or thoughts and that my mark would be representative of MY skill, this is a degree in computer science, not fucking team work, I was raging when I got back to my room after my lecturer said I can't do it by myself so much that I was able to get a new record on my powerball... anyway, I digress. I googled the whole autism thing since I know it's something to do with communication, I found something called an Autism Spectrum Quotient and decided to do the test Here. My result was 35. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism_Spectrum_Quotient#Use_as_a_diagnostic_tool in the wiki article to get an idea of what this means. So of course, based on that I thought that I should investigate further and so I did. I looked at This Article on aspergers syndrome. Some things I noticed from the wikipedia article which apply to me. - atypical use of language - limited empathy with their peers - poor communication skills - obsessive or repetitive routines - difficulties with social adjustment - difficulties with independent living My post may seem well structured but it is because I have read over it and made sure that it makes sense, I often say strangely structured things in conversation, as for empathy with peers, I often understand what they are feeling but I don't feel that they understand what I am feeling. I feel so separated from everyone to the extent that I have seriously wondered how people like the same movies and video games as me. I have been at university since the end of september now. I haven't been out socially once. As for the whole obsessive thing, I spend 8+ hours on my computer a day and I do a lot of programming, I know a very large amount about computers, all self taught. As well as this I can solve a rubiks cube, do some pen spinning stuff and for no particular reason decided to learn swedish several months ago, which I am doing fairly well with. I love to self learn, the only reason I'm here is to get a degree which is essential for any good job these days in the UK. I share a kitchen with 7 others and I haven't had a conversation with any of them longer than 5 sentences despite living here since the end of september. I feel like an alien here and I want to go home. I hate the whole make every meal wash everything up sit in my room (maybe a tad lazy), sleep, go to class etc and I don't want to go out socially. I'm 19 years old facepunch, please don't treat me like a child, I want help and I want to know what to do, I don't want to keep wondering whether I'm autistic or just plain shit at socialising. Thanks and sorry for the wall of text, the gist of it is that I fit criteria for aspergers, I got an ASQ result which confirms it and I want to know what to do. Thanks again.
I feel your pain, i got the same thing. Words never pass throught my head.
Got 33.
Long thing about blah
Also here is a question you need to answer truthfully. Do you love chicken nuggets?
I got a 9. :buddy: [editline]11:20PM[/editline] "I enjoy doing things spontaneously." EVERYONE GET OVER HERE AND FUCK ME.
