I am serious about getting tested for Aspergers syndrome

I got an 28.
Aside from internal organs failing or strange stuff growing inside of you, anything that doesn't have a treatment is probably less of a medical condition and more of a regular part of life.
Some people are anti-social. That's how their mind works. (It's how MY mind works) You don't need pills for it.
I scored 12 :clint:
i'm not saying there is something wrong with you, but biologically speaking humans (in my opinion) must have a least some interest in human interaction on a physical level, that is how we have maintained the race for so long
your lack of wanting to socialize isn't anything bad, it is simply who you are
now.. if you are uncomfortable with yourself and hate feeling anxious around people and whatnot you can take medication, i do suggest a doctor's visit if you are interested
there are degreeing levels of aspergers and just because you're not completely fucked up doesn't mean you don't have it
OP you've missed the boat in terms of any good coming out of taking the test. Had you been younger ie at school and shown up on the spectrum you would have qualified for extra help/tuition etc.
Take the test now and the most you will get is a label.
Unless you plan on being self employed when you leave university you will be expected to work in a social environment as part of a team/group/organisation. Sounds like your academic abilities are up to scratch so focus on aspects of yourself that need some work. University is not just about getting some academic qualifications. Use your time as a student to get some practice at life, make mistakes, learn from them, move on.
Who knows, you might even join a club for anti-social nerds and find a girl just like you. It worked for me.
I got a 12 on that test. I thought it'd be higher, I'm not very social. Looks like I don't have an excuse.
The "You are frequently told that what you've said is impolite even though you think it's polite" is all me, although I got a 23.
I'm not sure how people do this, there's a clear line between polite and impolite.
I've been diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome by 2 different psychologists. You are who you are, regardless of what the tests tell you; don't let it change who you are knowing what makes you different. I don't really think the OP sounds like he has Aspergers syndrome, the obsessiveness with a singular interest is overwhelming at times. My parents both had to deal with me not ever being able to stop what I was doing, I'd even (I still do, I haven't changed) stay up until 1 or so in the morning, then get 4 hours of sleep before school. I can realize that I'm being excessive at times, but I always, regardless of how miserable I am, continue to work. Hell, I've passed out from exhaustion before in my computer chair.
Don't even get me started on the intrusive thoughts, unbelievably horrible. They aren't typically associated with aspergers syndrome, but in my case, I've been afflicted. Brutal images of myself dying and such. Bad stuff.
I've got problems concentrating too, I go off on those distant thoughts often, similar to what you'd find in someone with ADD, but distractions from internal stimuli, and my own thoughts. Doctor is going to give me some adderall to try out, hopefully that works.
People here on FP (or at least the tards) generally say:
You can't be on the internet if you have Autism bla bla bla I am clearly superior to you.
(I have Aspergers, yet I'm here. I got an angry PM once flaming me for it. :v:)
Oh and there are no meds for aspergers, not that I'd take them if there were.
Many people with it take anti-anxiety/depressants to help with problems from that. Depression and anxiety are common with people with it.

That would be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. No doubt I'm less socially capable, but in all aspects of life not so, I surpass my peers.
I've been flamed by 14 posts and 2 angry PM's.
It's not the stupiest things :v:

You have no idea how important the ability to socialize is for, say, getting a job.
I'm fairly certain I have ADHD, but I don't want to go in to a doctor to get tests for it.
Why you ask?
Because the second I know I have ADHD, it is going to become a restriction that I have for the rest of my life, and will ultimately limit my decisions in life. And as soon as other people know, they are going to pity me and cut me slack.
My suggestion: Just don't think about it. Asberger's comes with a title. My cousin has Asberger's (Yes, I know, my family has some seriously fucked up genetics), and one time, he ate a Hot Wheels toy car and had to get his stomach pumped....after not eating for a week and a half. If you honestly want people to view you like this, then go ahead, go into a doctor's office and get checked out.
I have Asperger's and OCD and dermatophagia. Such a great combination.
Anyway, rate me boxes, I don't really care. I do agree that almost everybody these days 'has' Asperger's and it could be the new ADD in terms of crap, but it's not cool being a person who actually has it.
I'm underage and I'm angry at the new laws in Australia meaning that I can't go to TAFE until I'm of legal age. So I have 4 more years to get my crap together and by the time I'm 20 I'll hopefully have my life ready.
Be careful. Ass burgers are painful.
I got a score of 27 on that test. I already know I have autism, but it isn't aspergers, although similar. It's not something that you are forced to live with. You can overcome it, you just need to learn to do things even if you feel shy about it.
Oh, and try not to talk loud and keep your own chat short.

Gentlemen, may I present, facts:
Aspie = Attempting social behaviour, but finding it confusing, or even impossible.
Aspie =/= Basement dweller.
I do what I want and it's done me well so far, I don't have anything to prove to anyone, it sounds like you do.
Good luck with that.
I don't have anything to prove to anyone either, it's more of a personal thing.
Look, I may have been a little harsh earlier, I just hate it when people get diagnosed with 'conditions' just because they are either lazy or want attention. Essentially, to make excuses. For example: there's a kid who goes to college with me, who claims he has Asperger's, so he gets to take extra time on tests and exams, yet he shows none of the symptoms that are typical of Asperger's. He failed 2 semesters in a row, simply because he was spending all of his time with his friends watching anime until 5AM, instead of studying like he should have been. Not because of Asperger's. I feel like the same thing happens with ADD and ADHD. Kids get diagnosed so they can get bottles of Adderol. They skip their regular dosage, and save the pills to power through all-night study sessions, and then sell the rest off, while they whine about having a medical condition. Meanwhile, my cousins have real, tangible autism, and they and their family have real problems to deal with.
Look, I didn't mean to imply that you were trying to do these things, and I apologize if it came off that way. If you honestly think you might have Asperger's, then by all means, go ahead and get it treated. I just feel that a lot of people get falsely diagnosed with conditions like these, and that pisses me off on a personal level.
Kinda funny, I scored 23, and 21.4 was an avg score for computer scientists, and that's what I want to be. Strange? I guess so

Oh dear.
The questions seem to have no pure middle ground, and some questions I'm curious as to the context of the word they're using.
And aren't 17 and 38 pretty much the same question? As well 40 and 50.

Same. It's just that I can forget number easily, however if you give me a couple set of numbers I can easily plug them in a pattern that you request, cause that's pretty much what math is.
Seriously, why can't the test be specific? If it was a bit more specific I'd answer the questions very differently.
Took it again, making more assumptions than before.

Look, Aspergus and Autism are two seperate conditions. I know many people with one or both of these conditions, one of which I see alot.
By the sounds of your symptoms, your a bit antisocial. And only worrying that you have a problem in university, after getting upset over a group activity isnt really enough to set you off. Unless of course that was just the icing on the cake. I get edgy over group activities too, although I am an extremely social person. I feel if you are somewhat intelligent, as you appear to be in what you have said, you will feel you are carrying the group and not getting full recognition.
I say if it really bothers you, go to a doctor or psychiatrist.
Because, unless anyone on FP can say they are a qualified medical practition that can diagnose a patient without actually seeing and analysing them, I dont think you are going to get any conclusive answers here.
:) good luck.
If you feel uncomfortable in a social situation you might have social phobia.
Whatever it is.... I try to think real life is like some sort of realistic fucked up gta where you have to be sensible and civilized. Also, you don't respawn.
Score: 41
That's high.
Asperger's is a "get out of jail free" syndrome, like ADHD. It is just an excuse for weird antisocial kids, claiming they have asperger's so they don't have to be responsible for why they're afraid to talk to girls. Since Asperger's is treated symptomatically, it is almost impossible to tell whether you do have the syndrome or not. People like Ulillillia (google him) have Asperger's, not you.
Ulillillia doesn't have any form of autism. He said himself that he was diagnosed with an extreme case of OCD.
