Napoleon Dynamite was pure shit. The first two thirds of the movie was just the follies of some clear stoner kid while the last stretch just felt like the writers suddenly realizing they needed to quit picking their noses and shovel a plot into that ridiculous mess.
And I'm not sure if Dazed and Confused was popular, but that was even worse. All the characters were [I]completely[/I] unlikable, and they didn't even try to make a decent plot. "Hurr durr, some kids get stoned and rebel against the system! What a great fucking story! Puff puff."

I really don't see why people like it. It doesn't have that much action, and the story was boring.
- Avatar (The story is too simplistic and manipulative, also not in any way original)
- 300 (Offensive historical inaccuracy, pointless gore, a better version of the story was already made in 1962)
- Passion of the Christ (The laughable focus of the story on the details of Jesus' suffering instead of his teachings or resurrection, pointless gore)

I agree with pretty much everything this guy says. I mean, Avatar sure has some impressive visuals, but it's the STORYLINE and CHARACTERS that's important. Can you honestly say that these two things are exceptionally well made in Avatar? If anything, the plot has been done to death (Dances With Wolves, Star Trek: Insurrection, Pocahontas, Ferngully...), and the whole message is accomplished by manipulating the audience, not by making them think (watch the review and you'll understand what I mean).
Please don't say that it's just a movie and therefore it's "just supposed to entertain". It's precisely this attitude that has caused the dark abyss known as the state of modern cinema. :barf::barf::barf:
