mutual respect don't tell somebody that their religion is stupid, and they don't try to ram it down their throat it's as simple as that
Why should I stop? I do read it and am trying to explain to this man why I am saying he is generalising. Will you be so kind to point out why I should stop?
Snipped, sorry Ignore that because I'm about to pass out
mutual respect don't tell somebody that their religion is stupid, and they don't try to ram it down their throat it's as simple as that
dont you mean the other way around?
No, either way works [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] That's why it's "mutual"
i wasnt trying to with that post
I wasn't referring to your post.
Oh ... buddy, you were so close to a logical, efficiently worded argument, then you had to say this. I never ONCE said religious people were wrong, I am an Agnostic, so I really couldn't give a fuck whether or not there is a deity. I never ever said religious people were wrong, or attacked people because they were religious. The ONLY thing I said that's even within 1000 miles of that was religion is illogical. You were so close to making a half-decent post. Sooo close.
You come in here saying that religion is illogical, which these people believe strongly in. There is no reason when unprovoked to bash someones beliefs. Sure you can think its illogical, which is what I also happen believe, but please keep it to yourself. You can say that calling someones beliefs illogical isn't bashing of their beliefs or of them for believing in them, but it is. Seriously, I don't care if you disagree with them as I also don't agree with their beliefs either. I am simply saying you shouldn't come in here to directly say their beliefs are illogical... let them believe it if they want, especially since it does not change your life.
Don't you dare tell me what to think and I'll treat you the same. I'm no hardcore Christian but I do have my beliefs and they are pretty set in stone. Don't try to sway me from my beliefs, ever. Thank you.
I think that's the most hilariously close minded thing I've ever read. I'd ridicule someone just as much for illogical scientific beliefs. Illogical thought stemming from religion actually can change people's lives. Look how many gay people aren't given the same benefits as heterosexual couples (marriage and associated benefits). Look at the salem witch trials. Look at all the unfair treatment that women are subject to in the middle east. I could go on forever. Safeguarding and promoting illogical thinking just isn't a good thing for society.

I do agree that if it does, then they should be called out on their beliefs. But to ridicule someone for simply being religious is not a good thing either.
I'll stop bashing on religion when the shit actually makes sense and is plausible realistically.
I will stop calling religion when they stop forcing there beliefs on other

The religion bashing basically occurs by people saying "God Isn't Real" "But we're not believing in God in a literal sense" How do you continue the arguement after that? Its pretty much impossible.
There's just self-righteous christians/catholics/muslims out there that don't want to see us saying shit about 'God' or their 'Religion' because it hurts them on the inside and frustrates them to see someone destroying their beliefs. I do it anyway because it's my god given right to-- OH WAIT LOL
god is literally a babby i met him and he said goo goo
god is literally a babby i met him and he said goo goo
You don't half have to shit post, mind. :smug:
I'm Christian, and I've never forced my beliefs upon anybody. Don't tell me what to think, I won't tell you what to think. I know there are some quiet atheists on this forum who don't get all involved in bashing on religious people, and I thank you for that, I don't ever get into all that shit either, I'll have my beliefs. But most of the time atheists are trying to budge in and tell me what to believe. Don't you dare tell me what to think and I'll treat you the same. I'm no hardcore Christian but I do have my beliefs and they are pretty set in stone. Don't try to sway me from my beliefs, ever. Thank you. [sp]Sorry, I just had to vent this shit somewhere[/sp]
So you're a communist AND a christian? Nice going.
i didnt say they were all illogical. i said they held an illogical belief. given that: 1. logic is a science 2. falsifiability is a required component of something being scientific god is therefore, not scientific and therefore illogical.
Neg. My belief in God and knowledge of Him is absolute - such truth of knowledge is undeniable, thus logical to exist. Frankly, it doesn't matter whether God is logical or not - He is beyond the need for logic. E: Hessy was about right.
Religion is highly logical, you believe something that makes you feel good.
Religion is highly logical, you believe something that makes you feel good.
It's hard to accept the fact that when you die, nothing happens, very difficult even for today's standards.
i am muslim
*BOOM* smashes into twin towers look how moderate i am now hahaha!!!
It's hard to accept the fact that when you die, nothing happens, very difficult even for today's standards.
Not for me, that's what dieing has always been about.
[img_thumb]http://imageflock.com/img/1289042195.png[/img_thumb] Funny that.
I was telling this to my friend a couple of weeks ago. I don't care what religion my friends or whatever are as long as they don't shove their beliefs down my throat.
Did you miss half his post?
No, I read it all, and I adressed it all.
Amen
Amen
A Man. Two Men. :colbert:
A Man. Two Men. :colbert:
Two and a half men :colbert: [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] Anyways, I'm Agnostic Atheist so I don't have to deal with any of the shit.
when religion stops causing wars and senseless death and destructionI'll stop bashing I also limit my bashing to the internet. In real life I have friends who are Jewish, Christian Muslim, and Buddhist.
Religion is highly logical, you believe something that makes you feel good.
I guess that makes anal sex a religion.
