I'm Christian as well, and would appreciate less hostility towards religion.
i would like to take the time to say that i have an imaginary friend. and would appreciate less hostility to this.
it would be nice if we could keep religion out of arguments here and just judge people based on how shit of a poster they are (godking :xd:)
Vocal Atheists just enjoy being the "Victim" of everything in the world. The then trace it back to religion.
Hey guys, remove religion and you'll have nothing to blame but your-selves.
I don't like nationalism let alone religion, I'll continue degrading old world values as much as I like thank ou
seriously though youre posting about questions that havent been answered for thousands of years, and likely never will be answered, on a forum whose average age is 14 and couldnt find their own dicks with two hands and a map. getting offended about it is totally the wrong way to go about it, in the end youll believe what you believe, no big deal.
its very easy to logically prove that believing in god is illogical. at this point is where shit goes down hill because the other person refuses to accept the logic behind it because they refuse to admit they hold an illogical belief in a society that so greatly places value on being logical.
I believe in the possibility of anyone being right, because there is the possibility that anyone is right.
I am a Christian, but I really don't believe that there is such a thing as good or evil. Seeing as you may think killing babies is cool, who would I or anyone else be to tell you otherwise? I am very passive and allow others to share their thoughts freely.
So if it is your belief that you are supposed to impose your ideas on me and my life, then so be it, go ahead, I will listen. I will not argue, because really... What the fuck does anyone really know?

actually you have nothing to blame because religion is removed? religion always has and always will be a method of controlling people

hi stud muffin how is your family? i remember a thread about a car crash,.,
I'm atheist, and antitheism really grinds my gears. I agree with this message. :colbert:

So it is illogical to belief that there is some higher power, and that whether it cares about people, or just leaves us be, that it does in fact exist? Because I wasn't aware of any proof that there was no God.

the idea of a god is unfalsifiable. this doesn't make it logical to believe in.

you might as well yell at a brick wall, nothing you say will change the fact that i am okay with religion and people who follow a religious doctrine.
the bible (or the qu'ran or the baghavad-gita (sp) or the talmud or whatever) are filled with snippets about how to live your life as a better person (lets not talk about leviticus, tyvm). why is that a problem? who cares if its true? maybe it is. well never know in this lifetime.
No, I just dislike when people come in and shit on threads that are peaceful.
yeah real peaceful kid
i'll wait til you discover the real world
I'm one of the "quiet" atheists and all I can say is, religion is not that bad. If you ever actually read the materials and learned the basic ideas of religions in your World History class instead of sleeping, you'll realize that they all have values which many of you people would value. To be honest, it is not the religion that is making people dumb, it is just the people that use religion as an excuse. And I have met a lot of atheists at school, and a lot of them are anti-social people who act stupid and immature, which is probably 90% of Facepunch. Theres smart atheists and dumb atheists as well as smart Christians and dumb Christians and etc.

I also have an imaginary friend, his name is Friendly. He used to be a butterfly but then he turned into an invisible boy.

It doesn't necessarily make it logical to refuse to believe in either. I think that something had to create the matter in the universe, give it the energy it has. My logical answer to that is a supreme being of sorts.

i dont argue whether the people holding the beliefs are dumb or not. im simply demonstrating that holding those beliefs is illogical.

:3: Oh wow, thank you :h:
Wow I am all flustered, I was not expecting this.
My step-father and my sister have come back from the hospital, my step-father's boss called and told us that he could take a few weeks off to recover. He had a concussion.
My sister has 4-6 broken ribs and she has been staying from school everyday and sleeping. Also today she found out she wasn't being covered by her insurance so that sucks a bit.
We are using a rental car right now and are waiting until the insurance pays us to get our own new one again.
But otherwise everything is going pretty smoothly. Thanks for asking :3:

that was written...what, 5000 years ago?
it mightve made sense for people then, it doesnt now. im not saying that the bible is absolute in any way. theres a lot of it i disagree with. but it has good stuff in it too!
take, for instance, the ten commandments. sure, its pretty basic stuff that most people believe anyway, but it works.
take that kind of thing away from people and tell them its wrong and...well, thats not good.

people are going to be illogical, were not vulcans.
deal with it. there are more important things to worry about.
So it is illogical to belief that there is some higher power, and that whether it cares about people, or just leaves us be, that it does in fact exist? Because I wasn't aware of any proof that there was no God.
It really is not logical to believe in anything, given that we cannot prove that we are even real. Or we cannot prove that we are not in a machine like the one in the Matrix movies.
Falsifiability, particularly testability, is an important concept in science and the philosophy of science. The concept was made popular by Karl Popper in his philosophical analysis of the scientific method. Popper concluded that a hypothesis, proposition, or theory is "scientific" only if it is, among other things, falsifiable. That is, falsifiability is a necessary (but not sufficient) criterion for scientific ideas. Popper asserted that unfalsifiable statements are non-scientific, although not without relevance. For example, meta-physical or religious propositions have cultural or spiritual meaning, and the ancient metaphysical and unfalsifiable idea of the existence of atoms has led to corresponding falsifiable modern theories. A falsifiable theory that has withstood severe scientific testing is said to be corroborated by past experience, though in Popper's view this is not equivalent with confirmation and does not guarantee that the theory is true or even partially true.
